My tank is sporting an untrimmed defence cape. Say I were to get another 99, would the def cape trim automatically or do I have to buy another when I'm p2p once again?

Unless it`s been fixed, you can unequip it, drop it, get your 99, and telegrab it to keep it untrimmed. Of course if you`re f2p you wouldn't be able to put it back on.

Killing yourself is generally useful for when you get a memb skill to 99. You need the extra time to change worlds, get the 99, hop back and pick up the cape(s). If you are getting f2p 99s, its far simpler to drop the cape, get the 99, then telegrab. I have yet to do this, as my rc cape is the only one I have, but based on my reading, that is how it is done.

Did you telegrab it? I watched a buddy of mine drop an untrimmed cape, get the 99, then pick it up, and it didnt work. Supposedly telegrabbing should fix that.

Well I can confirm that you can still keep skillcapes untrimmed as I got another 99 today. I died in F2P, hopped over to a P2P world, got the level, hopped back and telegrabbed my untrimmed capes. I'm not sure if picking them up would work, but I don't really want to risk that as I'm rather fond of my capes. Maybe dropping would work as well for F2P 99s, I've always just died just to be sure.

Probably poisoned himself on cave crawlers dropped some nitro and logging into a f2p world (thats what i would do anyways) :P

Yeah it was herblore, thanks. I just got my hp low in a P2P world, in this case I was on lunar island since I wanted the normal magic spellbook, so I got the suqahs to get me down to around 100 LPs. Before I also used those unidentified liquids to get right down to 10 LP or so, but I didn't have any on me. I took out my untrimmed capes, and then took out 3 other capes, and arranged it so that the first three items in my inventory were the trimmed capes, the ones after untrimmed (this is so that when you die, the untrimmed ones will drop, check on your kept on death interface). I teled to falador, hopped to a F2P world, got the guards to kill me, ran to the lumbridge basement entrance, hopped back to a P2P world, withdrew 10 law/air/water runes (I just wanted to get a sufficient amount quickly), withdrew an unfinished potion and the secondary ingredient. Then I teled to falador, made the potion, got the level, hopped back to F2P world, and telegrabbed the cape. I had a 6 minute grave, and had right around 2 minutes left (I took some pictures for myself). As far as I know there isn't much in lumbridge that could kill you easily, which is why I use falador.

I doubt it, especially concerning things like untrimmed slayer/summoning capes. Those are certainly impressive.

I think untrimmed prayer cape looks WAY better than trimmed. The all white is pretty stunning imo

I heard something about the cape trimming itself when you equip it, I would like to keep my construction cape untrimmed if i get another 99, so can anyone confirm that rumor?

It is because of the rarity and personal opinion on the look. I have yet to see another untrimmed RC cape, so I will do all that I can to keep mine untrimmed forever. I like the look of the trimmed one too, but you only get an untrimmed cape once in your RS career, so I feel like preserving it. I also love the comments I get from people :D

Yea I could agree that it has some sentimental value. I just hate my untrimmed def cape. Looks fugly. All it needs is to be trimmed and a nice constitution hood to top it off.
