Herb growing time :S

Featured Replies

When ever I do my herb runs I always plant the Port Phasmatys herb patch first, recently it's been taking longer then the 75 minutes it is supposed to take. I planted at the Port Phasmatys herb patch over an hour and a half ago (90 minutes), and it still is in its last stages of growing. Yet my Falador patch which I planted second is fully grown...how does this make sense?...can somebody please tell me what is going on. This isn't the first time it's happened.

They take 75+ minutes to grow, not 75,so you can expect atleast 75 minutes for growing, but no less

Mamiću odlazi!

If the herb gets diseased and recovers, it'll take another farming 'tick' to grow. That's where the extra time comes from I believe.

Also logging out or in seems to reset growth cycles (trees being done way faster when you plant them in the evening than in the morning, herbs not growing when you log back in every 10 minutes to check, etc. no conclusive evidence though but that can be it).

It doesn't reset the growth cycle, it resets the growth cycle's substage.

But that doesn't apply here since one of the patches grew while the other didn't.

Well yeah, that. But I didn't read the first post properly so I guess blak is right :P

I think you're confusing herbs with different patches that can be protected by a farmer, since herbs can't be watched over if they get diseased then they die.

Either that or they have a chance to do nothing. Idk for sure :P

I always just used 90 mins for my farming, seems like they were done 95% of the time.

There is an odd randomness that occurs with farming that you are describing. I have always noticed it more with fruit trees. For some reason, the fruit tree patch in the Gnome Stronghold seems to me to consistently grow faster than any other patch. Also, sometimes trees would take closer to 24 hours to grow sometimes and others more like 13-14 hours. All without any noticeable (to me, at least) rhyme or reason, just as you're seeing. Every time I'd ask a question about this I would get the same sort of responses that you're seeing now that don't quite ring true.

I'm not reallky providing you any answer, either. Just wanted you to know that what you're seeing aren't that uncommon.
