Just here to share some pictures from a mountain "trek" I went on last week, at Mount Fyffe, Kaikoura.

I really like the pine cone picture. The picture really throws us in to the focal point; being the pine cone.

The pine cone almost looks like it's floating. :mellow:

First: This is nice. I like the crisp focus. However, the position of the Cone is what gets me. It seems almost centred, although it isn't. Look at this image:

 

 

As you can see, it doesn't intersect the Rule of The Thirds lines, so it doesn't look as natural. However, when we crop it so it does intersect these lines, we get this:

It is much more appealing to look at, and seems more natural.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I probably should have taken that into consideration Ouchy, it was centred before I cropped it, but I kinda did it randomly so that the background fit in nicely.

Epic panorama - I love how you are led into the shot by the curved rocks.

The second one is mint. Watch the quality on all of them, they all seem a bit .jpeg sexually assaulted.

 

For me, the second photo, it is the contrast in colours which makes it. It is a nice, not overdone contrast, with an interesting subject. THe mountains spiked tops make for an interesting composition against the flat blue. Great job. The black and white one would be better if more of the higlights from the snow and person would come through, and if it was better quality.

Holy [cabbage], the second one is freaking amazing. It's like the range divides the picture in two, and then the green mountain, snow tips - plus the almost graininess of the clouds. :thumbup:

Yeah, the foreground probably isn't as sharp as I'd like, but it was hard to get everything in focus, as those mountains were probably a few Km's away.

And for the B&w one, I wanted to have my friend silhouetted against the scenery.

That, if the lighting wasn't so harsh, would be the best yet. The lead in lines, and Ro3rds composition is amazing!
