Dung Weapon Bind

Featured Replies

Now that we have the rings, has the preferred weapon to bind changed?

I can use promethium but not primal. I currently have a spear.

I'd say that the all around best weapon now is the primal rapier, as it can use berserker on both slash and stab, can use tactician and tank modes, closely followed by prom 2h which is able to use berserker and tactician. Spear is still a good overall weapon while not able to use any of the melee bonuses can benefit more from the skiller or mage/range bonuses without too much switching(as it is a ***** now).

I used primal rapier before the update for about the first 70 levels.

I don't think it was good, i then switched to spear.

Then now that you can use the zerker .

I switched to 2hander.

More accurate imho, crazy crush and slash

Having no primal, the comparison would be between the promethium versions of all these weapons.

Is it a big loss to not have some attack types? Especially in solo?

It's helpful to have atleast 2 attack styles, so this is why the primal maul is used less than the prom 2h. For solo, i'd say that the rapier is even better as the speed helps while being able to use shields. Alot of monsters in dungeoneering are weak to stab, and not having crush isn't as bad. Because you aren't able to use primal weapons, prom 2h are what you are looking for.

if you really want a melee ring, a Rapier is good if you're going to use tank, otherwise 2h.

Personally, I kept my spear, and have my ring set on Blazer since I actually do a far bit of magic during dungeons.

I think 2h might be best. You can get away with giving up either stab or slash, but you do need crush + one of the two.

Can you elaborate further on the uses of these styles please?

Have a look at the Tip.it Bestiary, Runescape Wiki, or Runescoope Monster Guide and search specific monsters as you encounter them.

Each of these guides generally provides a list of weakness. Use the appropriate style accordingly.

2h. The insane slash bonus on 2h means you can pretty much use it to substitute for stab.
