Sorry, but I'm trying Dwarf Fortress again. I must succeed!

Meh. I try pushing through the rats in the doorway with my sword and staff.

This is why everyone should use metric, a simple decimilised system which most of the world uses.

Its only two countrys that don't use metric, America and India.

Its so much better when people do things the same, I mean look at language barriers - they're awful!

I use imperial measurements, so if someone uses metric, I'll need to figure out a conversion. :)

Would anyone be ok with me modding it until the Dwarf Fortress hype goes down, Retech's stated he's ok with it and I want to keep the story going.

I'm doing a session, story tonight and have already made a map however at the start you will only be able to see some of it, I have an idea for the story and their is an entrance to three different tunnels, all of them with different things, people with powers may be able to detect things but you won't be able to see anything until you walk down.

 

I'm using a d4 dice.

d1 = you fail and hurt yourself

d2 = you fail

d3 = you succeed

d4 = you suceed and a bit more

 

I've created a map, the blur will dissapear based on which tunnel you choose to go down, all will probably give you rewards and problems. So your in the same place but you've just disovered three tunnels.

 

Two more hours left, still no-one?

 

If you get lucky you might recieve a magic bonus or some gold coins and dimonds and rubys (or third degree burns, a broken leg or evil wizards)

No theirs just no response for one hour and I can do it for two more hours, I'm just reminding people who may have wanted to play.

You see four tunnels in the catacombs, one leads back to where you entered and the rats, the rest are numbered and will lead to different storylines.

He's allowed it, because of him letting dwarf fortress die down before he mods.

i do beleive retech gae him permission. if he's as arrogant as he made his charecter, then we can just stop...

anyways, i try to get to the crack and run through it.

You get a little bit wet but managed to accomplish your goal and get through it, you see a long tunnel and a bunch of large rats staring at you.

uhhh.. aww man.. stabity as many of them as i can!

You stab a couple but they soon begin to engulf you and start chewing your leg, the knife is thrown out of your hand and you find it hard to get up.

 

Edit: Do you think I should put the numbers of rolls before them?

Requesting that you make a non-canon "out of reality" experience, as I don't really want the storyline to continue yet. :thumbup:

Ok thats fine Retech, Earth to avoid intruding your going to need to go down one of the tunnels I've made than Earthsage, they all have different storys, 1 is extremly thin but you could probably squeeze through, with two you can hear a slow distrubing breathing, with three you can not hear anything but it doesn't mean its going to be boring, they are all completly detached from real life.

 

Retech I can still hand out XP? I'm assuming its 0.1/0.2 if you roll a six while attempting to do something.

 

Earthsage, your going to have to go down one of the tunnels, you find the knife but see this at the end of the exit tunnel.

... why is it you didnt roll to see whether the rats were chewing my leg off, if i found my knife, and make it seem like im casually looking for an exit rather than being chewed to death, weaponless, and running for my life?

Yesh, you can. I'm trying to be a bit less giving with the exp this time around unless they do something interesting. Also, be limited with giving items (might mess up an obstacle if they happen to have a grappling hook or something :P)
