A Question Of Junk

Ok, I understand the necessity of junk, due to the trade limits and Jagex's implementing their own prices on things, but this has put me in a bit of a dilemma.

With the new treasure trail rewards, a number of items are selling extremely low on the GE compared to what people are willing to pay for them. For example, there are people paying 250-300m for red dragon masks, which I happen to have gotten from a clue this morning, but of course the market price is around 15.5m at the moment. The result being that the seller has to happen to have 235-285m worth of useless garbage lying around in their bank. I tend to keep garbage out of my bank as a general rule, so of course I have nowhere near even 1m of junk.

So what is the most logical route for me to take at this juncture? I could wait for the GE price to go up to a more realistic level, and hope that demand doesn't result in me missing out on 200m or so of potential profit, or I could spend forever gathering worthless items.

Does anyone know of a more logical solution to this dilemma, or if not a way to rapidly accumulate junk that would amount to such a vast value?

Thank you in advance for your time and responses.

I say bank it and move on with your daily activities until it reaches a price that you are willing to sell it for.

The trouble, of course, with that is that as more of the masks enter the game, the less people are going to be willing to pay for them, and the "street" price will be dropping rapidly, while GE prices climb at a very slow rate. The result would be, as stated previously, potentially losing the opportunity of at least an additional 100m if not 200m. perhaps someone knows a fast way to gather vast amounts of junk in the interim so as to avoid losing such vast quantities of potential value?

Yes, buy something in a junk trade.

That's pretty much it, tbh. Nothing else makes junk faster than you could make real money.

Get into a price manipulation clan and buy whatever they are manipulating at it's lowest. use all your cash and when it starts to crash sell off your profitable junk (for you) with the mask.

Sell it in the GE and not promote merchanting clans, price inflation, and people taking advantage of the economy simple because they've exploited faults in the game.

But in all honesty if you have to go out of the way to collect junk its not worth it. You can look in your bank and see if you have junk, items of value that have no use to you and do not sell in the GE.

It should be noted that the reason they are 250-300m in junk is because MOST PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE THAT MUCH JUNK. Due to the lack of tree trade, most people will probably sell in GE for max, or at best max trade. Only a FRACTION of the people with these rare items will actually have a significant amount of junk - a fraction of the tiny amount of people that HAVE (or had) this item in the first place. Honestly with free trade (hypothetically) you'd get....guesstimating the price would be 100m-150m.

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

You could trade the mask + cash for a bunch of rising items, and either ride those up or sell max instantly for more profit than if you had sold just the mask.

Mask: 15m mid, 15.75 max

- Trade mask + 85m cash for 100m risings

Risings: 100m mid, 105m max

5m instead of 750k.

PS: I'll buy it if you're gonna dump in the GE :3

You could always try to get some harder to get items, like Battle Robes (Possibly gold ammies if you want to do some mage training) with it.
