Time to give it a rest, it's just a poor April Fool's day thread. Unfortunately we've given him exactly the attention and responses he was looking for. Although how somebody so stupid managed to be so successful in this game is still up for discussion.

I don't think that the issue is purely that the content is temporary or that somebody doesn't like it, but a combination of both. And the fact that it is consistent year to year, the holiday events never seem to get better and I don't think I've done one for around 3 years now. If Hati came back for Christmas this year, it'd be the best holiday event thus far. There's nothing inherently wrong with temporary content, but most of the temporary content we get is holiday events and it just gets old. Give us something akin to the Hati Wolf update earlier this year for a holiday event. A short quest or series of puzzles leading up to a decent xp reward would be great.

Since somebody already bothered to bring up an old post.... What about quests? You'd have people with Ancient Magic at 1 prayer, barrows gloves at 1 defense, etc. We already have people with fire capes at low levels from when Jagex resets botters' stats. When a player "zeros" their stats, would you take away every quest reward and diary/task reward that they got as a result of having the skill at their original level? If you want to zero your stats, start a new account and trade over your money and items now that we have free trade back. Problem solved.

I'm laughing so hard at Tourette's Guy right now. And the only reason that Charlie Sheen is winning is that Chuck Norris isn't playing. :thumbup:

If people want to spend so much time on a game, then let them. If it's what makes them happy then who cares? It's all about perspective. I could view somebody's guitar playing as being just as worthless as Runescape. Both are about setting goals and trying to accomplish them, and practicing to get better at something. If I remember right (longtime lurker here), Muggi made a similar comparison between Runescape and working out/lifting weights awhile back (or I could be making things up). I think if you worked on managing your time better, you could find the time to play Runescape AND have a social life, as far-out as that sounds.

Didn't it used to be against Tip It rules to have topics about individual players? In any case, like most people, I fail to see how this is a big deal. Another one bites the dust, oh well. I do envy him for being able to quit the addiction though, because I have had zero success with it myself.

Anybody find a Vecna Skull yet? I've heard Fire Giants, metal dragons (not bronze), and dark beasts drop it so far. Anything else?

I have yet to read the articles but noticed a mistake in the description of the new articles on the main page: "Effected" should be "affected." Sorry, I'm a stickler for mistakes like that. Just trying to help out.

Elite Void works great down there, I'm wearing it with my Blue Cape (SW) to make up for the lack of prayer bonus compared to proselyte. It doesn't seem like this spot ever really "caught on" though, because I've NEVER had to compete for a spot. Not that I'm complaining, I love being the only one down there, it just feels more relaxed than other spots. Great guide!

Gilded altar, ectofungus, killing ghasts, shade burning, and now ashes... I think the skill is fine the way it is, sorry. And like Fourside said, xp for using the prayers doesn't really make sense. Should we get HP/Constitution XP when we take damage?

Oh wow, I had completely forgotten about that. And I just spent 300 points on xp when I could have gotten the Deflector... :wall:

I like the idea, I can't wait to see what other ways of killing him you and others come up with. I have 2 fire capes myself and might try to go for a 3rd with Elite Void. Will_holmes, no Void Gloves? :lol:

I don't mind the 5-minute auto-log at all, it's gives enough time so that if I need to run to the bathroom, grab something to eat, or let the dog outside, I can do them and come back to Runescape and still be logged in. The 6-hour one is unnecessary, but it rarely affects me. As much as I'd love to be on Runescape for 6 hours straight some days, I simply don't have the time. But if I were sick and bedridden or just unemployed with nothing better to do, I could see it being a slight disturbance. I'm sure all bots are programmed to log back in after 6 hours, so a simple reminder telling those who are actually playing that they have been on for 6 hours straight would probably suffice. I don't have a problem with either of the timers, and I don't think that there's nearly enough people who do to warrant a change. It's been this way for a long time, I see no reason to change it now.

I'm glad I bought a few hundred more ranarr seeds a few hours before the update hit, those herbs plus what I recieve from MTK should profit nicely. Although I'm disappointed that I didn't buy my gold amulets and astrals before the update, I had wanted to restock and just figured I'd do it the next day. Oh well, hopefully I can get them for reasonable prices before the actual weekend. I'm not a huge fan of these weekends except for the fact that I get to make a little extra profit with stuff like herbs, and that its great for training farming. I always use that 2.7x multiplier on 2 runs of my highest level tree and fruit trees by having them grown in advance and logging out as soon as I replant + check health.

Well, I'm back with the free trade update, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I don't post much, but I know quite a few Tif'ers in-game and can usually be found on W99. Hoping to see some of my old friends and meet some new ones!

Hmm, you broke the rules and had to suffer the consequences. Sounds fair to me. Oh yes, and people who report others for breaking rules obviously have no lives and are the biggest [puncture]s in the game. :rolleyes: It is really hard to look at OP's statement as an attempt to scam people, but it's not like this kind of thing hasn't happened before. Gotta watch what you say with Jagex.

The next Tipit Event should be everybody invading a world dressed like this. You can get similar sandals as your default boots at Yrsa's shop in Relekka. There are almost just as many new footwear options as clothes now. And of course there are other alternates for a few of the other items. Don't know why I said Carl Pewterschmidt instead of Carter above... whatever. :lol:

World 114 has yet to let me down. Wonder what would happen if 117 went down for a day or two...

Wow, those old home page screens really bring back memories. Am I the only person who is getting tired of "Runescape: Dungeons of Daemonheim"? The minigame-skill type thing came out months ago, it's time for the home page to go back to normal. Awesome thread! :thumbup:

I won't be around Friday, so I'll probably do a quick tree run and then be done for the day. I'll do another tree run on Saturday, and then probably just train mage the rest of the weekend. I have 15,000 gold amulets to string and I'm contemplating buying some more. Unfortunately I used up my charm reserves about a month ago, so all I have left is green and gold. I'll probably do some humidify or superglass make after I'm done stringing. Should be a fun weekend. :grin:
