Killing Jad

Featured Replies

Hello there,

I want to know that what should be the minimum range level for killing jad. I'll be using karils with verac helm and rune bolts... Is that good enough?

PS: I'm more of a warrior than a ranger... My current range level is 75 and I'm 53k away from 76.

Your help will be greatly appreciated! :D

Being the owner of 5 fire capes, I wouldn't say jad is the part you should be worrying about. You could probably kill jad with a range level of 50 easily enough, but there's no way you could make it up through the waves to get to him. Personally I would get 80 range before trying to do the fight caves, as by wave 62 (1 before jad) you will probably have little to none supplies left for the fight to jad.. which will put you under pressure. Pressure at jad usually means you will die.

None the less, good luck on your journey and do not expect to get a fire cape the first try. It took me 5 tries, but now it's almost impossible for me to fail jad.

Not quite true, it's very easy to get to Jad at 73 range (I did that twice with 4 restores and 1 brew left). At 80 range, you'll have half an inventory of stuff left if you are decent with luring etc.. Jad is where most people fail.

The best way for you do do the caves though, would be melee. Especially with a rapier (but also with a whip) it will be way faster than ranged at your levels. You can easily melee anything up to and including the 180's (they'll be too busy to heal themselves and you can out-damage them). You start praying at the 360's (protect from magic). Just when they start launching the magic attack, you move in, attack, and step away. On Jad, you pray melee and switch to magic/ranged when you see the signs. With piety, you might be able to out-damage the healers, which will save you a thing to worry about. You should use piety throughout the caves since you will need very little healing at 99 defence (use EE to heal) so you can bring a ton of prayer pots.

70+ range and Def is easy, you'll be fine as long as you know what you're doing.

I got to jad and beat him 2 years ago wearing karils with a crystal bow at 70 ranged.

the other day I got bored and did it again wearing void and broad bolts (now 78 ranged)

I did jad on my main at level 76 ranged and on my pure 85. I could've done it with lower ranged both times and had plenty of supplies left ea time.

The hardest part (for me, anyway) has been prayer switching on Jad. I've nearly killed him a couple of times now, but I guess I got flustered and screwed up on switching...so I'd suggest watching videos and practicing prayer switching in order to make sure you're prepared for him.

Good luck!
