atticusako
I have 70+ combat stats. Wear the usual set up like fury, berserker, drag boots etc. I have bandos chestplate but nt the money for the tassets. What is a viable alternative? why are the tassets so expensive anyways? Zemus3654
Umm I would get a fighter torso, sell your bandos chestplate and get tassets. Or you could get either Dragon legs, or Veracs Skirt 24th to 2496 Overall ~ 29th to 120 Dungeoneering ~ Wilderness Guardian since November 2007 ~
atticusako
But why are tassets better than the chest plate?
Zemus3654
Because both fighter torso and bandos plate have same strength bonus, although tassets are the only leg armour which gives str bonus. 24th to 2496 Overall ~ 29th to 120 Dungeoneering ~ Wilderness Guardian since November 2007 ~

PlzPuddngPlz
If you don't have the 20-odd mil to buy tassets, verac's plateskirt is almost the same stat-wise, but without the strength bonus. Sig by me, in MS paint, but I'm still working on it. Suggestions appreciated This guide is as concise as a gourmet's handbook with the guidelines of "Pick up fork, stab food, insert into your mouth, then chew". TheAncient
Save up for turmoil/herb and sell your bandos, buy barrows Bandos is highly overrated Ever wanted to find street prices of RS items? Zemus3654
Save up for turmoil/herb and sell your bandos, buy barrows Bandos is highly overrated Yes, but its pointless just having a cash pile/buying small parts of it. It's best to have the bandos and then just sell it when you'll have enough for extremes/turmoil 24th to 2496 Overall ~ 29th to 120 Dungeoneering ~ Wilderness Guardian since November 2007 ~
SirIzenhime
get a verac skirt so you use can piety while killing monsters longer and still have defense to spare. Troacctid
Because both fighter torso and bandos plate have same strength bonus, although tassets are the only leg armour which gives str bonus. This is only true if you have a fighter torso. If you don't have a fighter torso, then the chestplate is significantly better than the tassets. And you shouldn't get a fighter torso unless you already have one, in which case you probably don't need a second one anyway. They're generally a waste of BA points. I would prefer to have Torso and Tassets rather than Bandos plate and Veracs Skirt. It only takes a couple of hours to get so yeah i would say it's worth it. 24th to 2496 Overall ~ 29th to 120 Dungeoneering ~ Wilderness Guardian since November 2007 ~
blakdragon39
Any barrows legs are a better alternative if you don't have much money really. They all have very decent defence, most noticeably, Torags. But the prayer bonus from Veracs is always good. I've used a dragon plateskirt since... forever. If your a guy with a guy character, they're about a quarter of the price of legs. :D

It only takes a couple of hours to get so yeah i would say it's worth it.Considering the opportunity cost of those hours, the inability to sell the torso later, the frustration of dealing with the disgustingly terrible n00b teams in W6, the opportunity cost of those hours again, the relative crappiness of the torso compared to the chestplate (no prayer, much lower defense) or barrows (MUCH lower defense), and the fact that Verac's Skirt is better than Tassets anyway most of the time...it's really not worth it. Well it depends what you're going to be using it for really, for most slayer tasks or general training you usually won't need the massive defence bonus (or prayer) from barrows if you have a bunyip. There are BA clans that you can join which makes it a lot easier and relaxed than doing it in world 6,and lastly it's nice to have good non-degradable armour rather than unnecessarily wasting cash repairing barrows all the time. 24th to 2496 Overall ~ 29th to 120 Dungeoneering ~ Wilderness Guardian since November 2007 ~

You should be using a combat familiar whenever possible.2. What BA clans? I haven't found any that'll let you in without level 5 in everything and/or full penance. If you're in a BA clan, you probably already have a torso. And if you don't, then you're better off spending your points on levelling up or filling your horn.3. Degrading is nothing. 5 minutes of farming pays for like 60+ hours of Barrows. Should not be an issue. I wouldn't bother unless you had like 80+ summoning for decent combat familiar (judging by his stats he posted i doubt that), and that's if it's multi too.2. "Baa CC" "Uba Pros" "PF United" - Yes they do require full penance etc, although baa and Pf have open cc's and dont mind going with others who join the cc most of the time.3. True, but it still all adds up considering you aren't going to need the extra def bonus. Depending on the task then yeah barrows will be better, but most of them torso and tassets will suffice. 24th to 2496 Overall ~ 29th to 120 Dungeoneering ~ Wilderness Guardian since November 2007 ~
