Overloads and Brews

Just got 96 herblore yesterday ( :shades: ) and obviously I want to use my overloads. I'm wondering, how many brew doses can you drink before they effect your stats? I seem to remember reading somewhere its 3, but maybe I'm wrong.

Gratz on 96 herblore. Me wants.

Overloads reset your stats to the full boost every 15 seconds. You can drink a brew right before a reset and suffer no ill effects, but if you drink one right after you'll suffer the effects for 14 seconds.

The number 3 that you're thinking of is the number of brews you can drink with unpotted stats, that allows you to restore your stats back to full with one dose of super restore.

With overloads your stats are boosted by 26 levels every 15 seconds.

So, any brews at all will affect your stats for 1-15 seconds.

However, if you drink more than 2 doses of brew, you will need to wait for your stats to be boosted twice for them to get back to full. You could however drink up to 5 doses of brew, 1 dose of restore, and then when your stats get boosted they will be back to full.

OK thanks guys :) Tried out the overloads at bandos and got 28kc. No drops though. I got about 2/3 of the way through a last graar but i had to tele, I ended up in my house with one lp XD.

Practice timing your brews so that right after you eat them the overload immediately restores your stats.

Also, have a system for counting 5 minutes for each ovl dose. it's really annoying to run out of a ovl in the middle of a kill.

Yeah I ran out a few times in the middle of a kill. One time I tried repoting in the middle of a kill, which is a VERY VERY bad idea. And yeah I found a vid on youtube that explained the timing pretty well. Thanks everyone

You should start drinking brews like 6 seconds before the next tick so you can get in 4 doses.

Also if your soloing bandos or something and using a whip there is a very good way to know when your stats will go back up. ~Every 6 whip hits, since they were last boosted, will restore so its very good to count them out loud or in your head and brew at the 5th or 6th hit. Also you can avoid the damage of the overload if you go out to lobby/log out immediatly after drinking it. Last thing my friend told me, haven't tried it, but if you go into house options the timer will stop not 100% on that though.

I'm not always good at explaining things so just say if that didn't make sense lol.

I think that's fixed now, it says 'you can't log out while in combat"

Yes, if you open the house options tab your overload timer will stop going down. (between kills)

Thought so and I just checked and you can still log out to avoid overload damage.

how do you time with a chaotic lonG? =p

I don't know exactly but have a guess at every 4-5 hits because I think it's 1 speed slower than a whip.

Yeah yesterday at Bandos I was doing the log out trick. It works but you have to be fast, after the second 100 hit you see you cant log out. The video I watched yesterday also talked about the house option trick and the 6 whip hit counter. Heres the link if you want to watch it.
