Bandos solo

So I decided to try to solo bandos.

I took:

Nezzy helm

Glory

Black d'hide body

Verac's skirt

D boots

Barrows gloves

Ring of Life

Soul Wars cape

Borrowed bgs

 

In my inv I had:

Zammy book

House tab

Super att/str

Hammer

2 Sara Brews

2 P pots

Super rest

Tort pouch

Rest of inv and full tort of Rocktails

 

Halfway through the first kill, I died.

 

I have 85 Attack/Strength, and 83 def

 

What, if anything, am I doing wrong?

I was praying melee and attacking the general.

 

What should I do to get a successful solo?

 

EDIT: I was using this guide. If you can direct me to another, I'll try using that also.

Also, my only GWD boss experience before was a few zammy masses.

Did you get KOed or run out of food? If you ran out of food not much you can do.

 

Whip + defender/Obby shield/DFS is better though imo

Got killed with ~25-30 rocktails left to go.

Also, what should my Bandos item be then, if I use a whip/def? (using zammy book for kc)

Well then start eatting rocktails faster. Run away/under graa when you eat.

 

I always used the bandos pool, but bandos boots, tassets or body work too.

More GWD experience? Doing smaller teams like 2-3 man teams will put more pressure on you and you willl get used to Bandos/GWD more. Also not trying to bust your bubble but having higher levels would really help, I'm 89/90/84 with 70 prayer too and similar (maybe better gear) and I don't bother solo bandos, payoff doesn't really outweigh the risk at my levels. Like I said thats just me, I might be a little more conservative than you and thats fine.

 

If you do continue, definitly work on increasing defense/gear and make sure your praying piety if you are not already. The damage/defense boost is priceless.

Bandos pool is best option. Also, run under Grarr to eat always, it helps so much if you time it right, can take a bit of getting used to thoguh.

I suspect the OP is soloing Graar more for fun than for profit. If he's soloing for profit, a call: it sucks at your levels.

 

You could try bringing some summer pies. You can eat one half of them for 110 lp then a rocktail straight after to heal 230 hp for a total of 340 lp per combat turn (rather than just 230). Since Graar maxes in the low 300's with range you should be able to survive repeated hits unless you get extremely unlucky with minions.

All of the teams I see on the RSOF need like 130+ combat and ovls/extremes/turm/combination of them.

Yea, you aren't going to get on a RSOF team. And, if you do, you won't be able to find a world.

 

If you're doing it for fun just try soloing again. Your setup was good, but i would recommend a whip + defender. I was able to get a kill a trip at 85/83/80 with terror bird AND 53 prayer. It was difficult, but still profitable. For your plate and legs, I would use torags/dharoks. At a lower level you need the range defence MUCH more than you need the mage defence.
