Beginning Monster Hunting

Recommended Posts

So I figured it's about that time I strive to be a monster hunter...somewhat. I've done the mole before, but that's nothing. I'm currently killing Iron's/Steel's if you'd want to consider that monster hunting? I'm looking to make some money (which I'm assuming is why most monster hunters...hunt..monsters...)

That being said. What are some good monsters to start on? What are the recommended stats to hunt them efficiently? Is there like...an average profit per hour on monster hunting?

Needless to say, I'm pretty clueless. What are some good monsters to hunt that don't require maxed stats to hunt pretty efficiently? (90-)

If you have any tips/advice you'd like to throw in, feel free.

Thanks for all information!

Get a magic level and you can kill Rex. Though I have no idea how bad DK's are since elite clues (might get crashed?). Otherwise theres really only Zamorak GWD because everywhere else you run the risk of getting crashed.

Your range level is a little low for TD's, but those are possible as well (you won't be making the 4.5m/hr people talk about at your stats & experience)

I wasn't expecting to get rich quick with my stats, I'd work on them (I'm actually maging metals right now, almost at that mage level). What's a good range for TD's (even Duo, I have a buddy who'd love to go with me)?

You can really get on some DKing trips. Or look for group/mass events in GWD. I been talking to you in game hit me up sometime, i stay pretty busy but a good friend of mine does alot of dking and I go with him, and a third would be nice!

Go gwd

You did look at his stats, didn't you? The only GWD thing he could do would be aviansies, a mass or solo Kril. And that's just because nobody ever comes to Kril anyway.

I'd go to TDS. Yes your range isn't as high as some would like it to be, but it's passable.

It's a laughable boss nowadays, but the KBD is still a viable option for beginners.

And anyone with a decent magic level can kill Rex fairly well, you just would have to be more wary of crashers since you Magic isn't too high. I'd recommend getting one more level so you can cast Charge and use CoG effectively. That'll give you some more assurance against crashers, but any Surgers are still going to push you aside.

I might go with a buddy to TD's when I get 80 range just to kind of get an idea of what it's like down there.

As for Charge, I just got that mage level like 20 seconds ago, so I have 80 mage now.

Congratulations on 80 magic, now you can use COG very well. Maybe time to play some PC for that void mace (it has +10% magic damage and +6 prayer, really nice for a staff).
