TheKoolKandy Posted August 21, 2010 Share Posted August 21, 2010 Well today I finally got 200k tokens and went to buy a CR but I bought a CLS by mistake.... But thats not the main point. So now I have a CLS and I was wondering if there are any slayer tasks where it is better than a whip. I know it's better than a whip for metal dragons but what about a ZS? And lastly any other uses than slayer that it is really good for? (I know sara, bandos GWDs and tds but I don't do any of those often) Hoping someone can tell me I didn't wate 200k tokens and to many hours on a CLS... Thanks for the help. I would just say work towards Rapier so you have them both.I barely boss hunt anymore and when I do I either have bad luck with drops or tele just in time to die in varrock. :( I really don't think I could stand another 2m dungeoneering xp either... Please 1 time returns jagex? Smapla Posted August 21, 2010 Share Posted August 21, 2010 'bad luck with drops' and having to teleport out are signs you need to do more boss hunting. then the 'bad luck' simply becomes irregularities in the average drop rate, and you get better at it so you won't have to tele out. Also he states the CLS is best for any task you only get one hit per monster anyway (when you are cannoning). It's better than the whip, but it's just not the best.What do you class as better than a whip? is a 100k an hour whip better than a real whip? debatable...but realistically, if you plan to do slayer, you've wasted alot of tokens, and if you plan to do slayer with a cls instead of a whip/zs, you'll waste alot of money, too. Better luck next time. As for tasks you should use cls on, steel dragons, mithril dragons, black dragons and skeletal wyverns are about it(dark beasts are quite low defence, strykes are dealt with magic), otherwise you are better off(with ext/turm) using zs/whip as they don't cost anything to maintain. Skeletar wyverns are likely the only slayer task a cls is better than a rapier, but if so, not by alot. First to 99 Farming on 27. September, 2005.First to 3766 Port Score on 20.
