Well im not sure what power metal is lawl but I do love iron maiden and Judas Priest :D

I can agree with Dio being power metal-related... but Maiden and Priest? :/ I'd say those are heavy metal (or NWOBHW to be proper). Definitely not pm.

Anyway, for me I like stuff like Stratovarius, Hammerfall, Freedom Call, Dragonforce, Twilightning (?) Edguy, Sonata Arctica etc.

Yeah Maiden and Priest for the win, but they are heavy metal or like Azvareth stated NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal).

 

 

 

For power metal I like early Helloween, Gamma Ray and Stratovarious.

Anyway, to get some discussion going... American power metal (Iced Earth, Nevermore) or European power metal (Sonata Arctica, Hammerfall, Stratovarius)?

I think four out of five of those bands are accepted as power metal. Whoever wrote that list probably had very little idea what they were talking about.

According digitaldreamdoor.com, Pantera is powermetal, Michael Jackson is rock and Sentenced is black/death metal.

I think it's better to do some research and find sites that suply good information before you start yelling " best power metal band ever!", and even quoting those things in your signature.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anyway, I'm not a powermetal man or something. But I think Dragonforce is a pretty good band. And for what I know they make powermetal.

If they classify Rainbow as power-metal then they might aswell count Deep Purple as it. :roll:

Don't be so melodramatic. When we are correcting the information you've given that shows we are interested in the topic. And we'd like to discuss it. And if the topic is already here, why not keep it open.

If those bands aren't power metal, then i don't know what it is. So i don't know what to talk about.
