What exactly do you mean when you say 'made into an mmorpg'? It's already a browser based mmorpg. Are you suggesting that an entirely new game, separate from what we have now, be created for the Xbox 360? Or just that we're able to access the game from our xbox?

Personally, I think it would suck. Moving the cursor with the controller would be horrible. Unless they could some up with something to make that aspect of it easier, I can't see it having any success at all.

Ok, if it WAS made into a game for PS3/360/wii, it wouldn't just be playing RS through those systems. Be a new game. New gameplay. Might have same quests, some skilling element.... but it'd be quite a different game.....

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.
[spoiler=The rest of my sig. You know you wanna see it.]

my difinition of noob is i dont like u, either u are better then me or u are worst them me

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

I was thinking more 3rd person, also that a completely new game on the 360.

I think this would relaunch a bigger audience to RuneScape and be a huge marketing plus for them.

Here's the issue I have with that: Xbox 360 and the way they run the Marketplace. Those beloved weekly updates we experience? Nothing would be 'free'. You'll pay the fee to utilize Xbox live, and every piece of DLC they devise--aside from patches--would be charged for. Users who are familiar with Valve's dilemma with Left 4 Dead content know that, although Valve freely offered the DLC on PC versions, had to pay out the nose for the same piece of content on the XBL Marketplace. I dislike how Microsoft handles their services. The console itself is nice, but then again so is the PS3 if we're not comparing these extras like community and extra services.

But I guess that's getting a little off track, isn't it? It's not the console so much that you're arguing for, but just the conception of another game. I'll make another reference then, if you'll bear with me: Neopets. For ages, they hyped up the release of a console game, originally slated for the PSOne, but later redone and released on the PS2. It was an awful game, hands down. There was just nothing redeeming about it. And since they relied on their pay products as a browser based form of entertainment, I don't think they could secure the capital required to make the game worth playing. The same exact thing would happen with Jagex. And worse still, it could have negative affects on those potential customers you pointed out earlier if it's terrible.

So no, I don't really mind if they do it, but they'd have to be able to do it well. Managing their own game seems to be a hassle enough as it is; because of that, I don't see them looking into that area anytime soon.

Why just 360?

I want a Runescape on the DS (obviously with options to wifi), Earthbound/pokemon style.

But if there's a console version of Runescape, I doubt it will do horribly well. Since it's so online based and updates continue to flourish, the online community will still be vastly superior.

A game is built to run on a certain system. When that game is taken off that system to a different one, it almost always (bar a few exceptions) fails or is far inferior. Runescape was designed to be on a PC. That's why the chatting is so easy and it's a point-and-click game, unlike a game with WASD controls and a keyboard shortcut for everything.

So it COULD work, but more likely, it won't, and it'd be a waste of time and money. However cool it might be, the fact can't be ignored that the computer is Runescape's native console, and you can't take it off that console without running into more complexities than worth bothering for.

Umm, the whole game was designed to use a grid system. The original DeviousMud had tens of thousands of grid squares. That was just southern Misthelin or something...Now I wouldn't be surprised if Jagex said that RuneeScape has billions of tiles...it makes it easier to handle since it's less the server and computer have to worry about, your position.

If they made it possible to use a wasd system, first you'd have to get rid of the tiles and make it like WoW type movement...would take forever...
