mindstormer398
Hi. I am speaking from experience; I recently got 85 mining, and I have always been F2P. The best mining experience in F2P is iron. If you want to bank it, the best place is in the dwarven mine / resource dungeon with the deposit box. If you want to power-mine, there are various options. To break up the monotony in my mining training I usually grab available mith and addy ores as they spawn. Obviously this slows things down but it is a nice break. Good luck with your goal! +-------------------------+| . . . . Lose No Hope
Thanks for both the replies but where would I find granite and what exp/h can i expect. Thanks again :)Granite is found in the quarry mine just west of the pyramid from Desert Treasure. I believe the experience is around 50k per hr(dont quote me on that) if paying max attention while powermining. Hedgehog
Thanks for both the replies but where would I find granite and what exp/h can i expect. Thanks again :)Granite is found in the quarry mine just west of the pyramid from Desert Treasure. I believe the experience is around 50k per hr(dont quote me on that) if paying max attention while powermining. Max xp/hour is much closer to 70k. However, I'd only expect around 45k-50k/hour before level 80 or so. My usual recommendation is to do iron till 70, then granite to 80, then conc. gold to 99. manitstinks
actually coal is pretty fast tooI like to afk it but I hate the noobs that solo rocks. They never learn that having a million people to 1 rock is the same as just 1 person. Then everything is mined up and we gotta wait 3 mins for the rocks to reload. Lose No Hope
As posted earlier, iron is the best way to get to 70, then granite really picks up. The best iron is powermining it; the next best is using a kyatt to teleport to the piscatoris spot and duelling rings if you are banking. hitman76
My usual recommendation is to do iron till 70, then granite to 80, then conc. gold to 99. Sorry to take over the question, but what exactly is conc. gold? sorry i took a break for quiet a long time so kinda still catching up. As for your question, as a relatively experienced miner, I agree with granite power mining. I'd highly recommend you first get the water tiara thing (the tiara that replaces the need for water pouches, forget name) as well as perhaps a familiar which boosts mining. It might not seem like it, but in the end the extra help really does add up. EDIT: Familiars you can use (from what i remember) are the obsidian ones. they give an amazing boost. Quyneax
Con gold is concentrated gold, which is essentially a huge ore rock with multiple ores inside. There's also the coal equivalent. Hedgehog
Essentially, conc. (concentrated) gold is the woodcutting version of mining. You click on the rock and receive multiple ores over time, much like when you cut ivy. It's located in a chasm in the Dwarven mines and gives around 60k xp/hour (so significantly less than granite) and is easily afkable (which balances out the 5 or 10k advantage granite has over it). Vex
Iron can be mined outside the resource dungeon in the dwarven mine. Then you hop through the portal - use the deposit box and hop back. This saves having to drop (which is a pain) and turns some decent profit while getting XP.You could use spirit terrorbird (or war tort) to load up an invent as you mine iron, then can be quick deposited using the deposit box). No idea on Xp rates and ores per hour, but I imagine it can't be that much slower than dropping. After that you can do Granite. If you've got the camulet, you can duel-ring to castle wars and get back to the mine in 1minute. If you take a war tort - you can just bank the 5kg granites while dropping the rest. This should cut down on the dropping a bit and give you some gp/hr aswell. I'd recommend doing the quest "dealing with scarabus" first for the enchanted water tiara though. At 77 it's concentrated coal until 80. A Coal bag + BoB is very useful for this, especially if you are lazy. http://www.[Caution! Caver
I would do granite in the quarry, dropping ofc, that can be very good xp, if you're wanting to do iron, try the Pisctatoris Mining Site, 3 iron rocks to mine without moving.. bliss. :D Good luck!
