I'm in love with my claws currently, however, recently I asked the question if I could get 85 herby off 37m. The answer was a shakey maybe. I was wondering, if I sold my claws and therefore doubled my wealth would I be able to afford 85 herby easily, AND be able to get extremes? Maybe 90 herb? What're the chances?

Really? I'm pretty much convinced now. How well does it speed things up?

Claws are very much an extra to get after you have turmoil and overloads. They're a great help when you're doing pro boss soloing, but nowhere near the advantages of getting those skills up. A DDS is usually not much worse, whereas extremes are ALWAYS very helpful EVERYWHERE you do combat.

So yes, you can pretty easily get 85 from 80 just from your claws. When training herb I usually use prayer pots because they're easy to buy / sell en masse. P pots are 20 gp/exp so yeah, it's easy to get and from previous posts, it's worth it.

The sooner you can make extremes, the better off you'll be. Extreme attack is 21gp/xp, and str is around 25gp/xp. Normal potions are around this cost, but only after you sell them off. So it is much better to start making extremes as soon as you can, which is 83-4 herb. The way I did it was to make 1k super attacks and strenghts to 83 herb, get a +5 stew, then make the extreme pure sets using the 1 min. trick.
