Merre
With the possible removal of trade limits it might be a good idea that Jagex makes it easier to report botters/macroers...I've always been the first in line to report people who were obvious botters.I'm not gonna reveal all tricks to get bots stuck but if you think of leading away swamp tar pickers, snape grass pickers with dropped items; getting auto firemakers stuck with bird snare or beat autominersby mining faster (and they keep clicking too late without asking you to leave or without logging out to mine in another world)...The stupid thing is these guys try RS names that discourage you to report them. Since you have to manually type in the name of the suspected person it's annoying if their RSN is something like'IllllIIIIllll" because it's really hard to copy that lol...A rightclick option might be too much asked and would lead to many mistaken reports, but there should be an easier way imo... Last guy I reported had 99 fish, 99fm, 99 fletch, 99 cook and was already L92 mining when I reported him.All other skills were 'not ranked' in highscores... Can it be more obvious this got got all his "skills" botting??? I mean how can you bot all those levels without being caught? Makes no sense at all  And plz don't give me the nonsense "what if you report someone who's not really botting, but has chat off and is just stubborn?" If you claim a person who's fm'ing gets stuck and remains on the same spotwithout moving, then logs out, logs back in, runs to bank and restarts fm'ing till I stuck him again is not a botter, you should question your intelligence and not mine  Besides that, Jagex has always stated it's better to report 'suspects' than look away from macroing and help destroying the game. And don't be fooled, if trade limits will be removed, there will be a boom of botters again... :( 2016 goals: all skills +30mil xp - Completed this goal 11th December 2016 2017 goals: get at least 3 more master capes (start xp: invention done@21st Jan, mining done@2nd April & ranged 76/104mil done@June 20th) & all skills +40mil xp (done 24th August)

Merre
Yea because we don't already have loads of wbm's running around reporting everyone. This thread belongs in suggestions (where nobody ever looks), not general. Plz define wbm (wanna-be-mod I would think), and I don't report everyone; merely the ones who are obvious botters. Since RS is packed with them, it should be everyone's duty to report botters ffs... 2016 goals: all skills +30mil xp - Completed this goal 11th December 2016 2017 goals: get at least 3 more master capes (start xp: invention done@21st Jan, mining done@2nd April & ranged 76/104mil done@June 20th) & all skills +40mil xp (done 24th August)
anonymouse_
it should be everyone's duty to report botters ffs...some of us would rather just play the game and not waste time doing menial things Plz define wbm, and I don't report everyoneex kids that camp aubury's shack, or talk to you for no apparent reason and report you if you ignore them Seeing how you react as a moderator towards my post in the wrong section, I wonder why your attitude is so childish. Why is it wrong to report people who break the in-game rules and spoil the fun for the people who make efforts to achieve in-game goals? 'fun' shouldn't be based on the size of your e-peen. Fun is doing what you enjoy regardless of what the next guy is doing. My reply was not childish, I was merely pointing you in the right direction so you don't make the same mistake twice

I'm just sayin'... Yea because we don't already have loads of wbm's running around reporting everyone.Unnecessary sarcasm intended as a blow to the OP/his suggestion. This thread belongs in suggestions (where nobody ever looks), not general.Implying his thread doesn't deserve views. Randomly taking digs at someone's suggestion/idea seems pretty childish to me. OT:I think that with the assist system and report system in place the right click menu would be very overcrowded (i know you can turn assist off, but a lot of people prefer not to due to frequent use/being pretty cool guys and not afraid of anything). Although, with the new right click system it could be a decent time to suggest such a thing. I don't see it happening, though. It would make reporting too easy, people would make quick mistakes or just spam report for no good reason. Just more things for Jagex to deal with, where the current system has worked consistently well for years. Legalize baby punching. Tax and regulate it. Punch babies erry day. Serpent Eye
I doubt that Jagex would make it to where you right-click a player, hit "Report User123," and then it automatically reports them like that. As it stands now, you hit the Report button, and then the subsequent interfaces (manually entering their RSN, and then selecting what offense you are reporting them for) pop up. The right-click option would simply remove the step of manually entering their RSN. You would still need to confirm that you right-clicked the correct player, and you would still need to manually select what you are reporting them for. The only step that would be removed would be typing in their RSN. If they did it this way, it would be just as hard to "accidentally" report the wrong player as it is currently. I am adult and wise enough to see the difference between a botter and a skiller. I usually don't even talk to them, if I get them stuck multiple times in a row I know 100% sure they are botting. The guy I reported yesterday was 100% surely botting. If I keep mining the iron ores faster than him and he keeps chasing empty rocks and clicking them for over an hour without getting mad at me, without searching another spot or without worldswitching you're either dealing with a person who's mentally not 100% or who's obviously botting. In fact Jagex has stated it's better to report botters/people who break the rules when you see it and risk one false report (not on purpose ofc) than closing your eyes to the problem.I never said he botted all his skills, but I did see with my own eyes he was automining. If I then see his highscores it all makes sense in my eyes. Refusing to acknowledge the problem is your way of ignore it, I rather go out and try to do something about it... I doubt that Jagex would make it to where you right-click a player, hit "Report User123," and then it automatically reports them like that. Alistair
Whilst I feel that making reporting of stupid names needs to be easier, especially given name changes allowing people to use impossible names without having to type it as their usernames themselves, there doesn't seem to be many ways of making it non-intrusive. All I can think of is, when the Report Abuse window is up, you can opt to select the player from the screen instead of typing the name in. Then give you a confirmation screen, e.g. You have chosen to report IiIiIiiIiiiiiI for seriously abusive language or whatever. Are you sure you wish to send this report to Jagex? Spamming and language are usually the only offenses I report anyway, and they don't come up serious enough often. I'm bot blind.
zoralink
I reported one of those bots that become stuck at the bank saying "24" over and over and ever week for a month I checked his Adventurer's log and he was still a member and on the high scores still. Merre
Agreed there Alistair, there should be just a way u don't need to type in the name but just select it or whatever. @Zoralink: I understand what you mean, that bothers me too. But I heard from a mod in-game they don't really take steps if only person reports.Only in offensive language that's enough, but for macroing/botting it seems Jagex only investigates a case if multiple people have reported that person. That's why I always make sure I get bots stuck at places where many people see it, so the chance is higher many reports are being sent...Reporting a swamp lizard botter isn't worth it imo, since you're the only one at that time who notices it... 2016 goals: all skills +30mil xp - Completed this goal 11th December 2016 2017 goals: get at least 3 more master capes (start xp: invention done@21st Jan, mining done@2nd April & ranged 76/104mil done@June 20th) & all skills +40mil xp (done 24th August)

There was a suggestion for something like this a long time ago that got buried, and I still feel that it should have gone through and been made part of RuneScape, like how it is on FunOrb. ~D. foursideking
Lol...I completely do not support this, seeing as generalization is the death of all wbm's. One american sees a black farmer, generalizes, and boom: slavery. One german gets picked on by a jewish kid in high school, generalizes, and boom: ww2. Giving 100 people false reports isn't worth catching the maybe 2 or 3 actual botters, seeing as if jagex truly wanted to stop botting/rwt, then they would've fought it by suing each and every one of those sites rather than blindly supporting it with free trade...if jagex truly wants to make this game better, then they'd make punishments more severe for botting/rwt, and/or accept screenshots of the suspected rule-breakers...
