Everyone knows that the dungeoneering law and nature rune staves are worthless because the amount of money you save from nature or law runes does not out weigh the cost in elemental runes you need as a result of not having the respective elemental staff.

 

There are two ways I've thought of to fix this. The first being ideal, the second being an ok improvement.

 

Solution #1.

Have each staff supply infinite elemental runes only when casting a spell that requires a nature/law rune (obviously corresponding to the staff equipped).

 

Example. I have a nature rune staff equipped. I can cast high alchemy with no fire runes for as many charges as I have placed nature runes inside the staff + any that are saved from the special effect. However after 20 high alchs i get bored so I pull out a pile of bones from my bank and cast bones to bananas for a little cash. The staff covered the fire runes as well as the earth/water runes. Then I pull out my blood runes and go to fire surge black demons and cry because the staff does not cover elemental runes not used for nature rune spells The demons kill me and I ragequite this game.

 

This would simplify teleporting a lot with the law staff as well as making life easier for superheating/alching/bones to peaches.

 

Solution #2.

Make the law staff also supply infinite air runes and the nature rune staff provide infinite fire runes.

 

I don't believe the second solution needs much explaining.

Never considered it before, but that does sound like a good solution, and not an entirely unreasonable one. I prefer solution 2. To balance it, maybe you need a certain runecrafting level to charge the staves (so basically upgrade it from its current state). I mean...they're not exactly the most expensive pieces of dungeoneering equipment.

 

Both staves do have a use though; they're the strongest F2P staves :P

I like 1, law staves as free teleports ftw! Not unbalanced for the law staff but I think entangle w/o runes may be a shade to powerful. Then again entangle sucks as it is.

I thought the gravite (however the heck that's spelled) was the strongest...?

I don't have an opinion in regards to your suggestion, but I just wanted to say that I lol'd when I read this.

I think that #1's a great solution, Entangle and all. After all, you can eliminate the elemental rune cost for that spell with a mud staff. #1 also encourages much more emergent gameplay, especially with new spells in the future.
