Often I am dragged from the computer for some not so important things: do the dishes, clean your room, go to school, run away because the house is on fire, etc etc, and when I come back (or don't) I'm logged out! I know people find it annoying how I pop in, pop out, pop in, pop out, pop pop pop POP! I also end up typing my username like 20 times in one sitting!

Even when you're gone from your desk/table/garden gnome's head, your character is still there unless you logged out, which still results in the above problems. SO if a moster comes up and is like "Raaaaawwwrrr, I'm going to attack yyoooooouuuu!" you're off doing who knows what are your little runescape person is left to stand and die. Or if you are following someone and tell them "Hey, I'll be right back, k?" And they lead your person out into the wildrness and kill you!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So this auto log out time is a burden, but could save you. What do you think?

If I'm going to be away for long enough to matter, I log out. The only times I'm auto logged out are when fising, woodcutting, etc.

Annoying but its a good feature, many times i have forgotten to logout it has saved me from monsters, evil chickens ,shades ,doctor hyde and many other random stuff

I find it annoying, even if it is helpful. I don't leave my account logged in if I'm leaving the computer for more than something like grabbing something or getting a drink or whatever. Seeing as I wouldn't leave if I had ten hitpoints left or was following someone, I don't think a lot could happen in the fifteen or less seconds I'm gone. I don't forget to logout, so I don't have that problem either.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I think I'd prefer if the length of time was longer, more for fishing, mining, woodcutting, etc. purposes, but then if something did happen while I was gone, I'd want the time to be shorter. Either way, I find it kind of annoying, but it's not a huge hassle to me.

The 60 second log-out policy is sort of annoying when training some skills that don't require your attention every minute. But other than that the feature isn't too bad. Just means that I have to be careful if I'm browsing website's/forums while playing Runescape.

I hate it sometimes, and sometimes i love it, eg1; im browsing tip.it and i forget im on rs... i leave the room to go to lunch and forget all about it... if i hadn't who knows how long i'd be standin there. eg2; i click as fast as i can and sprint up the stairs to grab my mp3 player, sprint back and i'm logged out, this didn't use to be a problem, but since the bank pin it has....

It's Definately Annoying! Sometimes I Have Several Windows Open Such As MSN. When I'm Talking To A Friend About Something I Can Be A Long Time And When I Turn Back I'm Logged Out. This Wouldn't Be So Annoying IF It Didn't Happen So Often!!! :twisted: :evil:

its stupid and tedious, i have to enter my bank pin so many times when it happens *especially* when im reading the forums. and if a monster is attacking you, then when it logs your out you'll probably die. so its pretty annoying... :evil:

That's true, except it would save you if you were attacked later on; like say you got a shade ten minutes after you left. With this setup, you'd already be logged out.

Hate it. I play Runescape while simultaneously do other things like brose the forums, webs, and chat to my mates on MSN. When I go back I'm logged out. I could swear the autologout time is like 30secs...

I do the same thing a lot, but I'm too worried about getting a random event and dieing to not check back a lot. Although I'm usually training when I do this, meaning I wouldn't logout anyway. But yes, it gets annoying.

I think they should extend the time that you autolog.

I was pking earlier, and I chased someone into the mage arena, and was about to kill them. Suddenly, they attacked one of the monsters in there and said something like "time to close the browser" Rght before they died from the monster, they suddenly disapeared.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Obliviously this is because you log out on mouse movement not on charecter movement (example, if you fight a monster for over a minute without touching the mouse, you will log out even if you are fighting).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In my opionion this is a bit...not fair lol, as someone can escape a fight to quickly with this autolog.

That's a good suggestion. I'm always getting logged off while fishing Sharks, or woodcutting Magics.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Or, Jagex could modify it so that they would notice that standing while fishing or cutting trees does not mean that you are doing nothing. (Hense, no reason to log you out.)
