Though I hate these company finance debates, since it's none of our business really - Jagex fairly recently hit 500,000 members, that means a bit below $2.5m per month.

For it is the greyness of dusk that reigns.

The time when the living and the dead exist as one.

It's good news to proof Runescape is not only MMORPG who have problems with cheaters. Keep good job, Blizzards even I don't have own World of Warcraft game but Warcraft 3.

I wish they would have showed the same gall for Diablo 2.....which fell victim to hackers years ago, but Blizzard never took action.

i think blizzard could be a role model for jagex, at least blizzard are doing something against autoers and 3rd party users unlike jagex. Whens Jagex gunna do they're mass banning? probably never as long as they're getting $5 a month from the autoers

Yeah, I've heard from people on the War3 forums about the lack of attention that receives. Isn't it now just COMPLETELY full of hackers and people with impossible skills?

Last I checked, they have a ladder system set up, so you basically lose all of the work you do after a few month period, and it recycles and starts over again....kind of a half-*** way to counter the hackers. At one point though......ok let me put it this way, if you play D2 you'll understand. Someone was killing hell cows in one hit with the weakest paladin aura, holy fire.

'nuff said, it was chaos.

Nice to know Runescape isn't the only one with autoer problems.

I wonder how many total accounts they have if they banned 18k.

18k players * $15.00 per month = $270k per month = $3.24 mil per year.

holy!they deserved it anyways...

18k * $40 = 620k. Granted, it's not as much, but it's something. And

actually, its 720 k ;)

For those willing to compare: RS has half a million paying members or so atm.
