H2PM
I'll admit, the main reason I don't want to see these happen is because I already have the 10DVD Ultimate Matrix Collectors Set or whatever it was called, and I hate having a set of series then one or two random other dvds that go with it. Other than that the story is pretty much finished, it had an end.Why the hell would you buy a DVD set of 10 Discs for 3 movies? Range_This11
They could pull the "Neo was an ideal and an embodiment thereof and cannot be destroyed" card if they really wanted to stretch, but it looks like this is mostly debunked. Range_This11
Before movies had music with them or soundtracks music did not have that function. Before colour movies colour did not have that function. Both became part of the movie experience as £D will in time. You forget they had theater for hundreds of years before movies were invented. These things have ALWAYS represented something bigger. stevepole
We don't know if Neo actually died, so the possibility of his return is possible. I wouldn't be against the addition of 2 new movies, but where the story could go is beyond me, besides maybe a couple prequels? I could also see why the Wachowski brothers would like too make more Matrix films because of a desire to push special affects like they did with the first film. No I haven't. In theatre yes they did; but in movie they meant nothing and we're merely new gimmicks when they arrived.Besides you forget we always hd 3D the entire world is in 3D, before thearte before opera before music before it all there was 3D. Just because its older doesn't mean anything. Range_This11
They were not gimmicks, they are very important to the film and always have been. Things being in 3D adds absolutely nothing more than something to look at. 3D is NOT important to the plot. 3D is not symbolic. There are no 3D metaphors. 3D does not convey emotion. Musical scores and color are symbolic (at least with good directors they are). This is getting off topic, if you want to keep up this pointless argument you can PM me. Sy_Accursed
Its not pointless. Not my fault that you can't understand that in film terms yes colour and music are used to convey things NOW.But when colour and sound first became available to film they were used just because and did not add these things to film. Their uses and effects on film had to be established and discovered first. 3D is the same thing, it (in its good form) is still new and is often used just because, it needs time to become established and develop its meaning within film; afterall used rightly it does epically chnage a film, it gives a better comprehension of space and distance and so can be used to emphasise or de-emphasise certain characters. Seeing 3D figures relates in your heads to real people and real life and thus can help engage empathy and relation to the characters quicker. etc. There loads of things it does do, its jsut not established enough to be used amazingly or taken as a given yet. It's like anything we take for granted once upon a time its use was very blurred and undefined and it was a gimmick. I mean when mobiles first appeared they were a massive gimmick and no-one could see a big use for them in day to day life. Now look at the world everyone from about 12 upwards in the western world has a mobile and becomes quite lost without it. The fact remains when they first got the technology to add colour and sound to film both were gimmicks and did not have a defined use. 3D is the modern equivalent. Range_This11
3-D films were prominently featured in the 1950s in American cinema, and later experienced a worldwide resurgence in the 1980s and '90s driven by IMAX high-end theaters and Disney themed-venues. [1] 3D films are long past being in their infant stage and have had a good chance at being as relevant as music or color was for movies but they simply are not. 3D has been and will always remain a gimmick. foursideking
Meh, they already have 4 matrix movies (if you include the animatrix), adding any more just ruins the value of the entire series. There's a reason why they only did 3 rush hour movies...or 3 austin powers movies...or 2 horribly bad harold and kumar movies.

Have you ever studied film before or are you stating an opinion? That style of 3D died out because it was rubbish. This is a newer way of doing it that is still very much in its infancy hence why the glasses are totally different to the blue/red ones you used to have and the movies actually look proper 2D rather than sort of 3D but with weird coloured tinges at edges. @paw_claw in the future when 3D works the way you described it (or rather you making [cabbage] up), then yes 3D might be a good feature. but 3D the way it is now is a gimmick Erm you just agreed with my point? My whole point was everything HAS to start as a gimmick before it finds its place as a good feature.Music and colour did it, my point was 3D may be a gimmick now but its gotta find its way to being a good feature. Albel
I'm torn on this guys. I loved the Matrix, all the movies were great. I've always wanted to see another movie added to it, but as someone said before I'm worried it would only taint the series. On the 3D thing as well...eh. I kinda like, but at the same time It really doesn't do that much for me in terms of a wow factor. What I want from these movies (if they happen) is a kick ass story. [hide=Quotes]Albel/JustinAlbel doesn't say anything anymore, just comes in, leaves an arrow and vanishes into the night :(Probablypractising some euphoniumYou nearly had me fooled, you fooler youEuphonium/10.9/10.
