Need advice on making a f2p pure

Hi I'm fairly new to pures so I'm asking for some advice.

I used to pk in the wildy but quit when they removed the wildy so I'm kinda rusty.

All these questions are for when the old wildy comes back. So can you please answer them as if the old wildy has already come back, thanks I'm want to get a head start to making a pure to pk in the wildy.

These are my questions:

1.Old windy is coming back woohooo, I remember pking with my main back then, does anyone know where I can find a good pking guide for the old wildy in general

2.What combat level should I be? why?

3.On your answer based on question two, what combat skills should I have?

4.Where is a good place to find updated guide to training those skills?

5.Are Tally rangers any good, my friend told me about them.

6.What gear should I wear?

7.Where is a good place to find updated guide to training to the skills.

8.Is it worth it having 1 def AKA being a pure.

Thanks.

Since F2P can only pk full rune at best, for #8 probably not unless you later go P2P... idk how F2P staking will work but that might be better

All skills 70+

Trails: 2 x Rune platebody (g)

Barrows: 1 x Dharok's legs

Drops: 1 x Dragon skirt | 1 x Dragon defender

I have not pked much (only before the wildy was gone, and even then I didn't do it often) but maybe the answers can help you.

1. Nope

2. Depends what players you want to fight with and in which level you want to kill people. If you want to target f2p rune miners your combat should be high, if you want to kill around where green dragons are you combat should not be much higher then most f2pers (so 60-80 I think?).

3. High attack and strength, defence for the armour you want to wear, prayer if optional, magic and ranged as high as possible (so it doesn't add to your combat).

4. Tip.it

5. No idea what tally rangers are.

6. Depends on what level you are and what style you are fighting. Wear the highest defence armour you can wear. I have not been f2p for ages but I remember when I was that using a 2h to suprise people (when they are low health) can work sometimes, also use a rune warhammer as most players use rune platebody's which are weak to crush.

7. Why do you ask the same question twice

8. No idea, depends on what pure you want to be.

8.Is it worth it having 1 def AKA being a pure.

Thanks.

1. There are several Runescape dedicated sites such as Tip.It that have guides on things such as a wilderness, try looking there.

2. There's no combat level you "should" be. You can PK at any level you wish, it's not as if you're going to be pitted against someone 20 combat levels higher or lower than you. Besides, combat level can only tell you so much about a person's skill levels.

3. It depends on what style of PKer you choose to be.

4. Tip.It!

5. They have their advantages, but they are limited. Eventually you'll want to get 40 Attack in order to use a Rune 2H.

In regards to question 6 and 7 (and overall, your question in general), I refer you to my guide on Range 2H'ing in F2P. In the guide you'll see why I think Range 2H'ing is the best choice of PKing style, along with many other things pertaining to the Range 2H style.

Thank you it is very helpful guide,

Just one more question left.

Is it worth it to make a pure if the old wildy is coming back?

EDIT: before I forget, What is the best non combat money making skill for a pure? Preferably not rune mining

Thanks.

1. you could try pking videos or just practice

2. 50-60 most decent f2p pures are around that level, but if you hate training 40's are good too

3. focus on either strength or range

4. soul wars are the way to train f2p pures these days or rock crabs if you are old fashioned like me

5. yes but the higher level you get the less effective they will be

6. iron/green d'hide

7. soul wars/rock crabs

8. yes

this is all assuming you are willing to buy members as developing a pure in f2p is too much of a hassle, but picking potato cactus is a good way to make money that takes no skill. 40-60k a pack depending on the price, takes 10 minutes.
