Superheating steel bars(or any bar for that matter)

I tested for mithril bars, but i'm pretty sure it works for steel bars aswell.

Without coal bag, i was making 5 bars+banking in 11 seconds

With coal bag, i was making 10 bars+banking in 30 seconds

It seems that the time you spend filling the coal bag, take mith ores, and take more coal makes you slower than if you just bank every half bars.

Am i doing something wrong? i heard alot of people saying that coal bag should speed the process alot, so i'm a bit confused lol

I know this doesn't really answer your question but, if you are going to be superheating ores for mage/smithing xp I would go for gold bars with goldsmith gaunts. Apparently (so i have heard) you can arrange your spell book so that the superheat spell is over one or the last ores in your inventory this is very useful as all you have to do is sit and click, bank, then again. I think the way to set up your spell book is to de-select them all then turn the combat one on then the skills one.

Hope this helped at all :)

The rearraging spellbook for superheat works for every ore, just gotta play a bit with the options, but thx for the info.

What you mean im not being very efficient.....? Why do people post when they even admit they have no idea what they are talking about lolz....

I think he means fast. If you are taking another 8 seconds fill a coal bag, I think that's it. You can fill it from your inventory I think?

Well to the first question the answer is because bringing up efficiency is the noob way of trying to sound intelligent, brought about by the many extremely intelligent people *looks at grimy* who actually understand what it is and how its applied.

Secondly, these people possess a disorder similar to a person's every thought being translated into spoken words irl, thus if they have a thought, it gets posted.

Thirdly, for what purpose are you superheating ores into bars if not for the smithing exp?

Oh, fast is another story. Sorry then fiery :) but no i don't think its a problem with my speed, i'm not very used to superheat yet, but im using 100% focus on the few (10) inventory which i tested with. Yes i am filling it with inventory. Assuming a 11 seconds for a non coal bag proccess, and 30 for a coal bag process, that would mean that im spending 8 seconds in 2 more actions, each one taking 4 seconds....which makes sense to me  anyway, i'll keep superheating some more hundreds of bars to see if it's really a problem with my speed.

Tieszen, i don't really got your post, but i got the last part. I'm superheating for both mage and smithing exp. I'm not asking for advice if i should superheat or not, because it proves to be way better than high alchemy, based on my needs. I'm asking if some1 is achieving a higher rate than 1200 bars per hour with coal bag.

I fully agree that superheating beats alching by the way. Smithing xp is pretty valuable in general imo.

Grimy doesn't seem to have rates on superheating w/ coal bag. However if you are taking four seconds to right-click coal and select withdraw-26 (or withdraw-all) and then four seconds to right-click your coal bag and select 'fill' then I think that's the problem.

Tip: have your bank full, and have the bars you are making banked (but not natures). This way you can use deposit-all. Then you want to fill your coal bag (with 26 coal) using withdraw-all. Then:

  • Steel: 17 ores, 8 coal. Set withdraw-x to 17 and use withdraw-all for filling the coal bag and filling your inventory after withdrawing ores.
  • Mithril: 10 ores, 14 coal. You can use withdraw-10 for ores and withdraw-all for coal.
  • Adamant: 7 ores, 16 coal. Set withdraw-x to 7.
  • Runite: 5 ores, 14 coal. You can use withdraw-5 for ores and withdraw-all for coal.

Because of deposit-all, extra coal is all dumped back into your bank.

You can cast up to 2000 superheat spells in an hour without banking.

hm quyneax, the deposit all seems indeed that will speed the banking alot. I'll give it a try, and hope after some k's of superheating my speed will be faster enough to prove coal bag to be worth it. Thx for everyones input

Jeez, calm down stop being rude. Look efficieny up in the dictionary it can mean fast....If your mum says your not be very efficient with your homework then that means your not doing it in a way which will save time, so dont talk about stuff you dont understand like calling it intelligent for noobs or something...
