I saw that news and I'm loving it. One of my favourite drivers. If only Kubica could recover in time to be his team-mate and they would be my dream team.

Thought I would bump this thread as the new cars are being unveiled for this year and driver line-ups have all but been completed.

If we thought last year was good with 5 world champions on the grid, this year we have 6. Who would have thought it?

Kimi is definitely who I will be supporting this year. He was my favourite driver when he was here before, and now he is in my favourite team (Renault/Lotus). The only thing I will love more will be next year when him and Kubica are both driving for the team. Unfortunately if people haven't heard, Kubica slipped on some ice recently and did damage to his leg and is now unlikely to be back this year.

Only one image is needed to express my thoughts of this year:

Since the F1 season has actually started now, seems only fair to bump this topic

Qualifying Result:

1. Hamilton - McLaren

2. Button - McLaren

3. Grosjean - Lotus

4. Schumacher - Mercedes

5. Webber - Red Bull

6. Vettel - Red Bull

7. Rosberg - Mercedes

8. Maldonado - Williams

9. Hulkenberg - Force India

10. Ricciardo - Toro Rosso

Other notable results:

12. Alonso - Ferrari

15. di Resta - Force India

16. Massa - Ferrari

18. Raikkonen - Lotus

Appears the "new teams" have made no gains at all, only difference is that Marussia and HRT have swapped round again so HRT are back to being the worst team.

Mercedes' speed is deceptive, a lot of it is to do with their rear wing so once the other teams copy them it will be interesting to see where they are. Ferrari seem to have just built a shed and then put it on wheels (although apparently their strength lies in long distance at the moment, similar to McLaren a couple of seasons ago). Interesting to see Red Bull have lost out, even more interesting to see Webber out qualify Vettel when he only did one flying lap.

All in all we should be on for an interesting but rather meaningless first race since Australia is always a weird one. Not sure if I can be bothered to get up at 6am to watch it though...

I'm going to record it. It should be interesting, but it's 3-4 races in when the clear image occurs.

Was a good race. Such a shame that Schumi Had a gearbox failure so early, he really seemed to be able to shake up the top positions. Loved that Button won though, but Vettel and Hamilton were not far behind, so we shall have to see how it goes from here.

In all honesty I believe that unless Ferrari get their act together either Vettel or Button will win the WDC. I have no doubt that Mercedes and Lotus have the pace to fight for every win at the moment, but I don't believe they will be able to maintain it for the whole season.

I hope I'm wrong and we get a 4/5 team battle, but I think Red Bull and McLaren will have the consistency throughout the whole season that's needed to win.

It'll be Vettel again this season, I just think RedBull are in a league of their own now with development.

I also think Ferrari will pull out at the end of the season and run their own Formula series as they simple can't compete at the front any more.

As for driver changes, I think Hamilton will head to RedBull after this year and Webber will retire.
