Saradomin_Mage
^ If you're attacking something that doesn't use melee it doesn't matter. Also, I hate using expendables on Slayer tasks for some reason. I don't even consume any prayer points flashing SS + turm together. That's how I do just about every assignment now. It even keep up when I went to Dark Beasts earlier, though I was using a Pros setup + turm for that.I thought that wasn't possible..?If your quick prayer is on for only one tick then your prayer doesn't drain at all.At least, I've been through assignments of 200+ monsters before and my prayer has stayed at 95/95 the whole way through. That means you're not actually getting the boost. I'm like 99% sure that even flashing uses up prayer, just a LOT slower. To dredge up this post, yes, when I pray flash, my "High Damage" hitsplat number does actually increase. When flashing on waterfiends last night with CM and extremes, High Damage splats would register at 714 while flashing, as opposed to 570~ without flashing at all. I've only noted prayer drains when I leave my prayers on for two ticks or more at a go (by accident or lag) In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers. LitterBug
How much do you actually save by flash praying as opposed to not flash praying. Is there any way one can practice flash prayer (other then just by doing it on slayer tasks or what not)I want to make sure that I'm timing it right before I go somewhere and get slaughtered for doing it all wrong :(

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers ringsQBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow partsCR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size....It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty). Practice flashing on weak things before you even think about attempting it somewhere where you could get "slaughtered" messing it up. Really? I was under the impression that protects can't be flashed anymore. (At least that's what I was told a week or so ago in a clan chat)Is there anyway to know if you're doing it right (if protect doesn't work?). Obviously if protects can be flashed - I'd just go to a high level monster pray and see if I get hit or not but otherwise - any methods/tips/anything? green9090
Flashing protects is a bad idea. In overworld runescape, they're cheap to use, so it's a lot of effort and chance for failure for nothing. In Dungeoneering, you don't want to risk messing up by trying to flash protects- if you need a prayer, turn it on. What is good is flashing protect/soul split. Leave a protect prayer on and then switch to soul split for the tick that you hit so you can be protected and heal. Saradomin_Mage
In Dungeoneering, you don't want to risk messing up by trying to flash protects- if you need a prayer, turn it on.I get insanely high flashing protect on the ranged skeleton. If you don't mess it up, it's extremely satisfying ;) In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

koaala
If doing Slayer with Overloads, eee is probably the best spec weapon. Its stupid wasting Prayer Points flashing SS if you could just 1click a Spec Bar and watch yourself heal. Using anything else for a Spec weapon is pretty stupid for the avg slayer task. I mean really, Claws? That gets you what, like 3 kills more p/h? At DKs and TDs though i'd stick with Claws as its easy enough to SS your way back to full LP and there high hitting specs are almost a must have.People who use overloads for slayer don't generally care about money- they are doing it for speed, and they'd almost definitely use claws, or at times korasi, for spec. I think EEE is still worth it in a lot of places where you have risk and need to heal after overloading.
