Hey I'm a pure with 85 mining (currently mining by lava maze and world hopping).

 

I was wondering if there was a better place for me to mine.

 

I do not have a lot of quests done and I'm only level 33.

I wouldn't recommend mining rune ore. Lots of competition for what is, in the end, not a fantastic payoff at all.

I'd say 11k per ore compared to the 900 gp of addy ore is a payoff. And if not, what and where should I mine?

You shouldn't mine for money, none of it is good. I know that assembling unfinished potions is pretty good cash at times, as well as picking mort myre fungus and hunting grenwalls (for lower levels, swamp lizards). Just throwing out things that don't involve combat here. Rune ore mining is a lot more frustrating and less money unless you get incredible luck with your world hops.

 

Once you've accrued a decent amount of money (like 15m or so), you can start GE flipping, which is easy money and only gets better as you get more experience and a larger cashpile.

If you truly wanted to mine rune, the mining guild dungeon from dungeoneering offers 3 rune rocks in a safe environment I believe. Lots of competition though.

Mining rune can be incredibly profitable if you learn how to time the respawns, and log back in at the right time. I think at such a low level, you might actually avoid most of the pker's, but I could be wrong.

Mining is best left to the bots imo. But if you're set on mining rune ore...

Wilderness: 2 rocks (far from bank, but with your low level, you probably have smaller chance of being pked, many serious p2p pkers seem to be high level)

Dungeoneering dungeon: 3 rocks (needs a dungeoneering level to access, completely safe, lots of competition from other miners)

Keldagrim: 2 rocks (needs some quests, pretty close to bank, has some competition too)

Heroes Guild: 2 rocks (needs a bunch of quests, no experience with it, haven't actually seen many people bother mining there)

There is also the rock at Dark Beasts - inside the mourners tunnel or whatever.

Pure essence is only 94 gp a pop and falling thanks to bots.

Your better off at the gold or coal spots at the living rock cave.

Just use a crowded world like 77, you won't get killed too often by rock people.
