Barrows Armour

After of all this talk about barrowing - I wanted to try out barrowing for once!

I looked up a couple of guides and the recent ones just advise on how to complete the barrow.

The other ones just advise you to wear full rune, and dragonhide but it seems a little outdated.

Anybody have any advice on what to bring?

I have about ~15-ish mil to spend on this, and I have tons of items to sell if I need to get more money.

Also, I'm using this guide:

^Is this a good guide to follow?

That guide is good general information about the minigame, but what really makes or breaks you is your setup. With my limited experience I can suggest the freeze/salamander method. I can't recommend a specific guide for it though, sorry.

PM me in game anytime

It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet.

That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.

This one covers the freeze/sally method well:

I've used it for quite a while and kinda tailored it to my stats. With max melee I'd ditch the super att/str and use the piety leftover from karil, but I know some disagree as ahrim isn't exactly quick to kill (relative to other brothers) without a spec weap.

These days I fully barrage all brothers and spec on ahrim, but you don't have access to barraging yet.

Anyways, barrows armour is your main friend, have karil top/bottom, ahrim top, guthans set. karil and ahrim would be replaceable with lesser gear if you're shy on money.

Just a heads up, if you have 15+mill dump a load into prayer to 70/75, that way you get more for your p.pots.

Also can you use an E.E. it saves food so you can bring more p.pots. As the idea is to get as many runs an hour, less trips banking means more chests loots and more barrows items an hour.

Glacors Drops - 33 shards.

Armadyl Drops - 1 Chestplate. 1 Hilt. 2 gloves . 2 Skirts.

^ yeah, I never been on a run so I don't really know what to do.

I was planning on just using melee for everybody but ranging ahrim? Or should I be using magic on the melees but range on ahrim and melee on karil?

I also don't have 70 construction yet - so I think I'll hold off for 70 prayer (until after the bonus exp weekend madness dies down)

Or should I just get 70 construction and get prayer during the bonus exp?

If so, I guess I can train agility/thieving or some random odd and ends til bonus exp weekend.

Prayer using a guilded altar is unaffected by the bonus weekend so i wouldn't train that. Con would be a good option just remember that Sc hammers give x2 xp normally so it can be trained after.

With regards to using melle on the brothers dont at your level. Black sally w/o ancients is adequate. Use the mage option on all the brothers apart from ahrim which you should use range.

If you are serious, do sally method with claws, sell all your ovverrated equipment, buy d claws, get piety at 70 prayer. Do ahrim with piety and claw spec first of each round, then use rest of prayer points by praying ranged on karil, use salamander on him or bring a melee wep. Freeze + sally all melee brothers, don't get KC in tunnels, it doesn't affect barrows items anyway.

My lame drops:
6 Effigys
1 D Med - 1 D Dagger
1 Verac's Helmet - 1 Guthan's Platebody

Since you don't have ice barrage, I'd suggest using claws of guthix with void mace, arcane stream and charge spell (with god cape) its the second best spell in the normal spellbook (after fire surge)

I'd advice wearing this:

cog.png

Fight all the melee brothers using the above equipment, for Karil switch to whip, for Ahrim switch to whip + black d hide top & bottom

Use a dds, d claws, d mace or enhanced excalibur to spec (recommended)

PS: Yeah the guide is amazing

I'd just mage the lot, cog works as above. You may want to use an obsidian shield, but generally the brothers hit very little. Since you can't boost magic damage much at your levels, I wouldn't suggest barrowing for now.
