Helm_Lardar
So as the title says, I'm looking to get 70 prayer as part of a long-term goal, enchanced excalibur. I'm not particularly good at combat, and don't really enjoy that area of the game much, and I have comparatively low levels (link in my profile). I have a low budget of around 2M-if really stretching I could bring it to 3M. I'm happy to do combat if it is relatively fast experience, and I enjoy minigames, however my lack of good combat ability means I'm bad against dragons and other players, whcih rules soul wars, green dragons, blue dragons, and also the higher levels of the shades of mort'ton minigame out. Time taken is not so much of an issue as enjoyment. I'd rather get into something slow, methodical, and practical than spend hundreds of thousands to very little experience gain but in a short amount of time. Ideally I'd be able to get the level in around ten days with some preperation (not flat out, but over the course of that time). I am happy to use ectofuntus or other alternative praying techniques to a gilded altar. So, does anyone have any ideas as to how I might do this? I'd love to hear opinions on what seems worryingly close to impossible. EDIT: Oh, and if I have to expand my budget how much do I need to expand it to? I'm not an efficienado. Bladewing
the best way to get 70 prayer would be to expand your budget, then buy bones. How to Chin Nechyraels for fast XP and profit

LitterBug
For now, it seems like all your levels are pretty low. The best way to do it is probably:1.) Start farming ranaars + limpwurts and selling them to make money2.) Train construction - buy a guilded altar - admittedly, this route will be super expensive. However, with the bonus exp coming up - you might be able to get to lvl 70 construction for a cheaper price Honestly - you just need to get your combat/dg up in the long run to access chaotic weaponry/frost dragons.A HUGE part of money making comes solely from boss hunting/pvm while farming does provide a decent profit as well Start doing quests - unlock MTK first and foremost while farming. Look around, people all have different ways to make money - pick one you like and just work on that.I like gaining exp, and I don't mind sacrificing a little less gp/hr if I can grab some exp along the way - but here are some of my ways of making moneya.) hunter - I've been grabbing grey chins while alching so I get extra profit/hunter exphowever, once you unlock red chins - you'll be making upwards of 250k - 300k an hour (I hear)b.) crafting - I used to loot the safe case in the rogue den (that was soooooo annoying), and then either sold the gems or crafted with them-some easy to sell items are sapphire necklance (enchanted) and emerald ring (enchanted)c.) fishing - one of the easier afk-able taskIf I wnat to watch a movie or something, I'll usually do this - although profits have plummeted with the addition of wildy There's tons of ways to make money, but that really does seem like what you need the most at the moment. Runecrafts
The absolute cheapest method would cost 5M, and thats doing regular bones (37000 of them)Second cheapest would cost 7M, and thats big bones.. So, unless you get some more cash - you won't be able to reach 70 unless you do a minigame or something like that.. I'd recommend getting atleast 60 for now, so you can use chivalry - you should have enough to get that. Hi if you're reading this you are amazing and I love you.Maybe they'll release a bugless update for April Fools. Helm_Lardar
Interesting. Very interesting, in fact, with suggestions ranging from getting myself some chaotics (ROFLMAO IWLSHMTFIMC). Big bones sound good at 7M, if that's the lowest possible. I already farm a little, although MTK is impractical for me as I can't get my approval up regularly. If I was to check it once every month I imagine I'd need a much higher amount of capital than I currently have. I won't be able to prepare for bonus xp weekend, so construction isn't really on my list of things to do. Unless I have some planks kicking around, whcih I don't...think...i...do...? I farm a little (toadflax) and brew a little (greenman's ale with the stuff). I'm looking to complete WGS sometime, although that could take a while with the skill reqs, I still think 70 prayer is the biggest challenge. So, yeah. Thanks for the advice guys, that was helpful. I wasn't sure if what I asked for was possible and it turns out it's not, so that's rather helpful! :) . I'm not an efficienado.

I wasn't sure if what I asked for was possible and it turns out it's not, so that's rather helpful! :) . I wasn't suggesting to go and get chaotics - but at your stats, good ways to make money are hard to come by. At best, you can exploit something for a couple of days, before other people who realize that it's an easy way of making money will crash it and destroy profits. However, making money in ways that require high requirements means less people can crash the market simply due to the amount of people who can do it. While farming, and all that jazz are decent money makers - nothing really compares to pvm/boss hunting. You definately won't get there with melee stats all around 60/60/60 (maybe you can - I just haven't thought of a way) MTK is a great way to earn money - you only lose 1% a day. If you do the MTK quest - you should have a enchanted lyre (from a previous quest). All it takes is one charge and a couple of minutes a week to get your approval back up to 100%. If you can't spare that much time, then you definitely won't be getting any real source of money (because apparently you can only play for less then 10 minutes a week)
JPMC Mate
Even checking your approval every month is fine, as long as you have over 750k at the end of the month. I know the profit won't be as big, but it is not THAT big of a difference. Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous. LitterBug
^ I think somebody calculated.Towards the end of the third week - you start to hit a break even/negative profit point.
JPMC Mate
I have had my approval drop down to 70 and the profit didn't decline much at all, so I don't think 72% will make much of a difference. Aiel
level 2 men are ~350k p/h. OP should farm herbs + MTK (favor once a week) while killing blue dragons w/ a cannon if he wants 70 prayer ASAP. I'm not saying his idea was a bad one.Last I checked, Edgeville man was also a heavily botted place. Anyhow, it's not 1/6 of your time sent shutting down a bot. It's not like you're not doing anything when you're shutting it down. You're just setting down traps - all it takes is a couple of clicks. If you're not lagging super horribly - you should beat the bots to the spot. Anyways, when the difference in money per hour is minimal - red chins are 300k+ an hour and edgeville men are about 350k an hour (It's probably around 300k as well) and you can gain upwards of 50k exp an hour doing hunting - the choice seems pretty clear to me. Btw, what are these "much better ways" of making money that Aeil pointed out?If you're referring to the one way that he pointed out that is marginally better, it's not an amazing profit maker. If you're ONLY in it for the money - killing men in edgeville clearly isn't the way to go. Merchanting is 20 times more profitable per hour at the cost of what? 5-10k melee exp an hour?

I never once said that killing men were the best way, I simply agreeing with Aeil that they were better cash than the methods you provided. The other ways that Aeil pointed out were doing MTK and farming herbs, both OP should be doing, and cannoning dragons is another he could be doing. Since OP wants to make money for prayer, not hunter, he should be doing whatever gets him the most cash per hour, regardless of other exp. Helm_Lardar
Okay, that's interesting information coming up. People saying big bones are only 50k xp/hr, well, actually that sounds fine to me. 70 isn't that high a level. I'm not hugely into PvM, but I think EE would be useful for things like quests. Obviously I don't have a high enough cashpile to merchant. I can't play during term time but on the holidays I can play RS, which is why any MTK is extremely sporadic. I'll give it a go once I've acquired another million. Thanks for the info, guys :) . I'm not an efficienado.
