Cat guides?

I remember there used to be a really good cat guide on the RSOF, but I can't find it.

Anyone have a good in depth cat guide? How often should you stroke it? Rat catching %? Things like that

Not sure how often you should actually stroke it, but I usually stroked it everytime I fed it. I would use the cheapest food possible when feeding (sardines are good), any raw fish is fine though.

Again, not sure of exact percentages, but a kitten will be pretty terrible at rat catching, a normal cat will be much, much better, and a wily cat will have something like a 80%+ chance of success when catching rats.

There's no actual time out there, but I believe it's around one hour. Stroking your cat stop it from running away. If your cat doesn't get enough attention from you then it runs away, the same way as if you didn't feed it.

Total 4 hours for overgrown cat.

Rat catching rate for adult cats is 90% I believe? Ik it's 100% for wily cats (or 99.9999 or something pretty damn close). For kittens I think it's about 10%. I'm not sure where I heard these numbers from though (except wily, in the hundreds of rats I've caught with my wily cat it's never missed once), so take them with a grain of salt.

What you feed your cat does not matter, so feed your cat with whatever is most convenient.

You never need to stroke your cat. Doing so just keeps its attention or something high so that it won't leave you. If it leaves you via losing attention, however, it'll just reappear in a few minutes. If you want to keep your cat with you at all times though, just stroke it when you get told that it wants attention, otherwise don't bother.

My cats have never returned to me when they ran. You don't have to stroke them very often, though, just mind the chat.

As for rat catching succes rates, my wily cat does NOT get 99% of the rats in Evil dave's cellar. Never tried normal ons, though.

Do the rat catchers quest. It is a pain, a horrid pain (last quest to finish for me back in the day before quest cape came out) but the wily cat is MUCH better than a grownup one, which trumps a kitten.

Kittens have ~10% chance of catching rats.

Cats have ~60%.

Feed them when their hunger gets high?

Why do you need a guide for this, lol?

Come to my Clan chat (I'm there if I'm online) if you wish to borrow a Green H'ween mask, Blue H'ween Mask, Red H'ween Mask, or Santa for a reasonable price.
