LitterBug
I have a question about summoning for you guys. Is there any low exp/charm ratio? I don't really know how to phrase my question but is there anything you can do that would yield a substantial amount of charms/combat exp.Basically, I want access to those higher leveled summoning creatures (mainly unicorn/yak/etc) but I don't want to have maxed out melee when (if that occurs rather).I do not mind training slower/getting range/mage experience instead of melee-ing. I don't want any ridiculous method either (like level up all your skills so that summoning is the lowest level and just Tog/Penguin Points/Skill lamp/books on it). I'm not sure if this makes any sense to other people but thanks for your time!
Lose No Hope
Train range and melds by cannoning black demons and mage by bursting/barraging rock lobsters. Both are very expensive if you do for a long time. You could also chin nechs. Bladewing has a guide on that. Illicit_Fun
Waterfiends help significantly. My favorite are TD's. TD's are amazing for the low combat:summoning ratio. I killed about ~3k with melees starting at around high 80s and 60ish Summoning, as well as a good amount of Slayer (which is, for the most part, a 1:1 Slayer:Summoning ratio), and that brought me to 97 melees and 96 Summoning. The profit of TD's is slowly getting lower and lower, but it's great for effigies, which you might consider as well.
LitterBug
Thanks for all the help guys! I think I'm going to start off with cannoning black dragons. For the most part - I'm going to try to use cannons (for the reduced exp) for decent slayer exp and a nice summoning ratio. Anyhow, when should I start to go to TD's (efficiently?)I can merchant for a while (spent most of it getting herblore/getting random items/getting cannonballs as of late) to make money but ideally - what kind of set up should I have? (Off task btw)

amitoz
High summoning at a low combat lvl can be done barraging rock lobs. I dont recommend this but you can also make talon beasts to 99 off those charms for 1k xp each. If you can stand temple trekking mini game you could get a lot of charms for little combat xp. Of course this would be both expensive (for to get the charms off lobs) and extremely slow for the talon beast charms. You can also mage rock lobs like regular and make normal pouches - except you will likely get 99 magic MUCH sooner then 96+ summoningIf you actually did attempt that, you would be rich off the pure ess and silver ores... Come to my Clan chat (I'm there if I'm online) if you wish to borrow a Green H'ween mask, Blue H'ween Mask, Red H'ween Mask, or Santa for a reasonable price. Quyneax
Rich off pure essence - while you're spending millions on runes . With a cannon you get no constitution xp, and constitution is typically the first stat you max out if you spread your melees and range and mage on the side. For high summoning with low combats, do Bork (Varrock elite too, though it's a long way of course) and Familarization. Use familarization at black demons with a cannon for some melee and ranged xp. It's actually less melee xp than waterfiends and a little more charms, as well as better effigies (no con xp for those, but you can open them for summoning xp, so summoning:con is x:0). Keep your defence level a bit lower than the others. At 95 summoning you should move to chaos tunnel fiends with an iron titan. The titan trains defence to compensate for the previous step. At 96 summoning you can do wyverns and black demons for cash + charms. Though it is slow going it can help if you feel unmotivated to make money without getting charms. At 88 summoning you can do tds. Tds are probably the best way to make money with summoning xp on the side. Waterfiends are around 80k melee xp per hour and 130 crims (before iron titan), black demons add about 50k ranged xp (losing a few k melee xp) and 120 crims (more golds). Thanks for that post!I'm not worried so much about not getting any constitution - I just don't want to max all my stats before I get a respectable summoning level. On an off note - do black demons actually return a profit? I've slayed them a couple of times for my tasks - an although the drops are decent (tons of runes/lower tiered weapon/armor), I found that they never even remotely covered the cost of the cannonballs. Quyneax
Black demons will only profit if you bank the ashes. If you need money I would recommend farming (as you probably know :P). 5 farm runs should fund about 2 hours of demons? To be clear: I recommend not banking the ashes unless you have a yak.
