simosimo
I've been an intermittant player since 2002 (2002-04) was my 'full time' period, ever since then i've done months here and there. I am an avid RSC fan, and was delighted to see Wildy and free trade back, not that I am a PVP'er. Anyway, Whenever i do re-sub, all I do is fish for lobbys at the fishing guild. Other than maybe grinding for fighting exp, I don't really know what to do. As dumb as it sounds, I don't really know what to do! I had a stint of crafting runes, but that got old. Glad to see random events are gone too! (avid fisherman). What can this old dog do? (other than running around with my 2003 scythe waiting for people to say 'cool weapon')
Quyneax
Moved to Help&Advice :). You can do scythe stakes? I'm not sure what you liked back then, maybe you could help us out here? In general I'd suggest: questing, bosshunting and pvp as the three things to try before you quit. In general I'd suggest: questing, bosshunting and pvp as the three things to try before you quit. No idea :) I just enjoyed the simpleness of it, and the progressing of early levels. I am level 76 (combat), and all of the skills I enjoy (Mining, Fishing, and Smithing) are an extreme grind and/or are useless these days. It would be nice to fight level-matched monsters for some cool and/or rare loot, but I've no idea where to go these days.
simosimo
This is more general advice but if you want something to keep you logged in - set a goal, something you want to complete. If you are used to playing only a few hours a week make the goal small, if you feel comfortable nearly no lifing it try and hit a lvl 99 goal. Im not sure but I think the point of this thread is you asking for a reason to play I suppose 99 fishing would be cool, but I am 76 currently, 99 will take freaking years. I only play a few hours a week so I like to get some fun stuff in. I am 65 att, 60 str, and 60 def. I am using a D-long and Rune-plate & dragon plate leggins and a D med & dragon boots). I'm guessing there's better stuff out there for me? I wanna go fight some mobs. What can you recommend? All my stuff is old hat! Cheers
hounddog
There is the event Fish flingers, I'm not sure how much xp you can get from that but it will give you something else to do while fishing. If you haven't done it yet you should do Tears of Guthix just for the fact that after you do the quest you can go back each week and collect the tears to take your lowest skill up for you. eee
You could aim to complete a particular set of tasks and get some fancy equipment.
simosimo
Started playing RSC, ahhh this is more like it! Perhaps I should play F2P RS (infact the main objective of re-subbing was to clear out my bank to have enough 'free bank spaces'). I am just hung up on the past
amitoz
^ F2p bank space is not independent of P2p bank space. Come to my Clan chat (I'm there if I'm online) if you wish to borrow a Green H'ween mask, Blue H'ween Mask, Red H'ween Mask, or Santa for a reasonable price. simosimo
Not sure what that means, but when I tried to play F2p, it wouldn't let me deposit stuff as I had far too much P2P crap in there. It's all cleared now, so I can play F2p now if I like.
Quyneax
Your p2p crap is stored in p2p spaces independantly. You probably had an overflow of f2p items, stored in member's item slots. vivimancer
Right, welcome back to runescape... If (like me) you use members time to 'boost' your f2p game, make things you can use in f2p, generally everything you can do in members will be cheaper and less time intensive, but if you are a 'casual' gamer spending the money doesn't ever feel like you are "getting the maximum" from it, but for example getting enough nature runes and steel bars to smith platebodys and high alc in a bank all day in f2p for free seems worth it. If your intrested in mining, try the living rock caverns, or completing the fremmink isles quest for the jatizo mine, or get 45 dungeoneering and unlock the falador resource dungeon, or or get the money together for a dragon pickaxe... For smithing i would definately recommend; the blast furnace in Keldgrim, with sacred clay hammers from the stealing creation minigame to make Unfinished mithril bolts and unfinished iron bolts (for profit) or (with fletching) enough arrows to get 99 range in f2p? For fishing? try getting 56 summoning for an ibis familiar when in Piscatoris Fishing Colony, or learn barbarian fishing or try the trawler minigame, or go for a cooking cape perhaps. hope this helps
simosimo
Last I heard, smithing was useless time=/=profit wise? Is that still so? I remember the days of making full bronze for newbies!
Quyneax
Smithing doesn't make money unless it is trained slowly (and I mean, making cannonballs). Making your own steel plates to alch is pretty useless in my opinion as there are better items to alch. Quyneax
You did bump a topic from quite a while ago, but since you ask: heraldic items. Steel platebodies are used in summoning (so they are not junk), but simple items such as heraldic plateskirts sell for way below alch price & there's a ton of varieties of each :).
