No_Foo
I don't normally spread hate and discontent but I'm really fed up with a lot of the crap jagex comes out with. Bonus gp hour everyone. QFC to jagex response: 15-16-96-62545820 Oh thats right, its Runescape. We dont play skills to have fun. We do it to sit in a bank and grind away, seeing who can do it the longest. No_Foo
It's not the fact that people got rich off this, what really bothers me is that Jagex is content with letting instances like this slide when years ago there was a strong zero tolerance policy on bug abuse. Oh thats right, its Runescape. We dont play skills to have fun. We do it to sit in a bank and grind away, seeing who can do it the longest. Hegelstad
Yes i agree, but i don't think banning them is the ultimate solution, everyone except some very bored people would participate in a such glitch. I am sure even the JMods would abuse it. Rollbacks of single accounts is a necessity here, and jagex should clearly state that such glitches will be rollbacked. Fairness
It's not the fact that people got rich off this, what really bothers me is that Jagex is content with letting instances like this slide when years ago there was a strong zero tolerance policy on bug abuse. And there was definitely a rollback when the RC experience bug happened (people got a few extra levels in a skill that, even back then, was in decline as a moneymaker, if not already at rock bottom - oh noes, let's undo everyone's progress). But no, this definitely doesn't deserve a rollback here, nevermind that this one might actually have a tangible effect on the economy (and yeah, my problem is also the consistency here). You're being watched.
Hegelstad
It is unfair, even though you were lucky its still unfair. And lol, i posted the vid at an runescape facebook post, got deleted and banned for commenting. Wtf? Trolls... Guys, please post this link in Runescape posts on facebook: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qArbJDuuX70 My lame drops:6 Effigys1 D Med - 1 D Dagger1 Verac's Helmet - 1 Guthan's Platebody
No_Foo
The exp and gp doesn't bother me, because I feel that's more the bot argument and that's a whole different situation. I don't want them to be banned, but the response from jagex is disappointing. It bothers me how they are so tolerant about things like this. I mean, someone running around falador killing people had no effect on the economy whatsoever, it was just a transfer of wealth, and no experience was gained but he was flat banned no questions asked. Maybe they should just revise their policy so bug abuse is "acceptable when no significant damage has been done" or however they phrased it. I'm not all about omg punish the abusers because I know had I been in that clan I would have gone and killed it too. I'm upset at jagex for their policies. Oh thats right, its Runescape. We dont play skills to have fun. We do it to sit in a bank and grind away, seeing who can do it the longest.

Are you even remotely suggesting that Durial should have gotten away with less? Come on, he and the "lucky" few others killed dozens of people, ROBBING them of their hard-earned wealth, including phats (neither of these mistakes actually harm someone directly, only the arrogant merchers who already have 10 times the money they'll ever need just in cash). There were two solutions, reimburse everyone exactly what they lost and take all of Durial's ill-gained wealth, or ban Durial. Guess which one is possible to do in practice? Also, scamming, RWT, it's all just a "transfer of wealth" as you say. Why are they against the rules again? You're being watched.

Also, scamming, RWT, it's all just a "transfer of wealth" as you say. Why are they against the rules again? You're arguing my case, this is what I'm talking about. Scamming and RWT today is rampant and not really being addressed. Killing someone and taking their items upsets people more because there's loss to one of the players involved, but a few lucky players bringing lots of cash into the game doesn't negatively affect anyone, so it's not really an issue anymore. How is bug abuse not ill gained wealth? You're missing my point, my point is the policy on bug abuse needs to be revised, because obviously it doesn't mean what it used to. I'm upset at jagex for their policies. So am I, they don't seem to care about their community... This is becoming a bigger issue but it's mostly ignored. I laughed the other day because a forum mod moved something and posted "Jagex isn't likely to address this anyway" The community doesn't really trust or care for the developers anymore. VoidRealm
Thought this might be of interest to some of you: I also looked on the RSOF Rants section, and it is filled with rants about this update, I agree it's very unfair, as people who have worked hard for their money are getting a slap in the face by those who are literally getting 100m+ easily. Sephy_
I really don't care about some lucky narbs getting free divines but rather dissapointed that after so many glitchy/bug-ridden updates they finally would have spent more time testing their work before publishing it. Yeah I guess you could say not even the best beta testing team will ever find every bug but this wasn't exactly small glitch and I'm surprised they were unable to find out about it until players discovered it in a matter of minutes.

Hegelstad
^ ok, now relate that to rs Mod Mark kicked/banned the dude from the clan chat when he had a valid point, and the Mod decided to be a smartass and mute him. Some idiot Mod decided to ban me from commenting on the Runescape Facebook page because i posted the video in the first post here. Even though i had a valid point by posting it.
