Grog needs all sorts of help =\

Grog has a few goals for the year.

1.) 99 STR/DEF/HP

1.) 99 Herblore

2.) 99 Magic

3.) 99 Summon

4.) 99 Ranged

5.) 99 Prayer

6.) 99 Slayer

I really think the top 4 can be done within the next 9 months. Either way, not actually taking XP/HR into effect for some (such as Slayer, which I know may be a long shot from 89 (though I'm 40k from 90), what would be the most effective way to do this?

They are ranked in order of importance to me. The two #1's are, in my mind, GOING to happen this year. I would assume just Slaying for money would be the most effective, if 99 Slayer is my goal. I'm strongly considering sucking it up and going for Rapier here soon.

I only ask for well thought out posts!

Edit: I do have ~6m cash atm. But, I can get it back quite fast.

Edit2: I have enough charms for 87 Summoning, possibly higher.

Get a rapier with DGS first, and then powerslay with a cannon. It MIGHT be better to initially get 85 dungeoneering and kill enough frost dragons for 95 prayer first too, because turmoil helps a ton with slayer. Tough call there. Either way your next priority after a rapier is to spend all the money you can on prayer.

I think I am going to snag 90 Slayer first, since I am like two tasks away from it. Otherwise, thanks for the post! I kinda saw this one coming first, the "get rapier". I haven't really had any fun with DG because I am thoroughly confused 99% of the time with it.

Edit:

@the 99 herb question I started RS in 2002 and I've wanted 99's in all skills since then. Why not?

Herb is easy to get on a bonus exp weekend, I suggest you get the supplies then just bank them and wait.

PM me in game anytime

It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet.

That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.

another benefit to 99 herb is the 3300 or so overloads you will make along the way

Yeah and believe it or not, 3.3k overloads don't end up lasting that long when you are big on PvM.

I highly suggest you do this, at most it wont take more then 2 months to get a rapier, and get enough money at frosts for turm, andn then get back to slayer which can be done at a steady pace in 3 months from your level.

Honestly Grog, if you don't enjoy Dungeoneering there is no sense in you doing it. Especially not for as long as 2m Exp. Because lets face it, chences are you;re going to get bored of it after the first 500k (maybe if you're lucky 1m) exp and go back to Slayer anyway or do something else. So although againt the stream, here is what i would do:

Continue Slaying as you have. You're doing fine with a whip now (as did 10 000 people before the Chaotics were released). Do Dungeoneering now and then, when you feel like it. No sense in grinding a skill you really don't enjoy. Chances are you're going to get better at Dungeoneering and find the fun in it which will eventually lead to a Chaotic. So rather let it takes a natural course instead of forcing it.

As for your Melee/Magic/Ranged goals. 99 Slayer is still a long way to go. Although argued that Slayer is bad exp, i will still say that its good. Not the best, but not bad either. Stick to Slayer for your Combat levels. Mage your Steel/Iron Dragon tasks (and Ice Wyrms once you get to 93 Slayer) and Melee the rest (could chin Nechs, but thats up to you). Once you get 99 Def/Str start Range Slaying. Although a lot slower than Melee, it's still going to save you time in the long run as you are still working on 2 goals at once. Besides that Ranging with Knives is pretty speady exp. I have no doubt that you will get 99 Slayer way before 99 Magic because you wont get near enough mage-able tasks to get you that ammount of exp.

Prayer is almost a no brainer here. Although annoying without a Yak, banking your D Bones from dragon tasks is already a start towards banking 99 Prayer. Same goes for ashes. Rather than urning them, sometimes banking them (then sell them and buy D Bones with the money) could better, although only really with Black Demons in Tavelry (assuming that's where your house is) or Abyssals in Kura's seeing as banking and getting back would take 2 minutes tops. Doing the odd GWD trip also helps towards that.

For 99 Herblore, seeing as its a #1, theres really no other way to get it faster than by just doing GWD/TDs for the money. Although i know you want the 99, i would also strongly suggest 95 Prayer before that as it would have a much bigger benifit.

When it comes to Magic and Summoning. If you don't already have 99 Summoning by the time you hit 99 Slayer then barraging would be a friend for sure. If you already have 99 Summoning then other methods like Plank Make would be good.

I know that this isnt the most efficient way of doing things but sometimes efficient =/= fun.
