Equenox Posted March 23, 2011 Share Posted March 23, 2011 I've been getting back into RS lately, and I've finally got myself into Slayer, so I'd quite like to get myself a fire cape. My stats are in my sig, but the real question I have is what I should be using in terms of equipment.I don't have the levels to melee, so range is where it's at. I don't own any high end range equipment, but I have 20m to spend. I currently own:Black d'hide/Full prossyBarrow's glovesRune x-bow/Crystal bowSnakeskin bootsArcher helmObby cape/Ardougne cape 2/accumulatorGlory Ideally I'd like to get myself 70 Prayer, so that's a good 12-13m out of my budget using dbones, but I figure upgrading my equipment won't hurt, and if it helps get the cape all the better.Any advise about what equipment I should get/be using would be much appreciated. So if you can learn to prayer swap well you should be able to do the caves at your level. I do suggest 70 prayer and 80 range though, even if they are just for general playing and not the caves specifically. Though it won't be as easy to melee Jad & you do not have the prayer/herblore levels to bring enough switches, so maybe ranged would work better convenience-wise. I'd recommend getting either 80 attack & strength and 70 prayer or 80 ranged & defence and 70 prayer. You won't be wearing a top with a lot of ranged defence when ranging, hence the higher defence level. Basically, use tank ranged gear (Verac's helmet & skirt, fury, ranger's boots, acp, barrows gloves, alerter, rune crossbow, dfs/eeks/bss, archer's ring) or tank melee gear (same as before but with whip/rapier & bcp). Provided your prayer level isn't too low, and you got EE, you won't have a problem at all (I'd say you can probably do it without EE as well). Main issue with meleeing is that you can't lure the 90s very well, but they die really fast anyway.
