green9090
I prefer using EEE to conserve brews, since rapier hits well enough on its own that claws aren't that must-have item like they are at, say, Bandos. Without an EEE, overload running out will instantly make you waste some brew, every time, because you can't sit there at 490hp and expect not to get KOed. Quyneax
Bandos is a small dps increase (6/64th of ~200 higher max) but you lose 24+14 stab 27+19 slash and 2+17 crush (granted you gain 12 ranged) defence bonus. That's over 10% difference in max defence roll. I understand K'ril actually doesn't hit often enough for this to matter? That's quite something. green9090
It matters slightly, but there are two major factors to consider. 1) You heal more the better your DPS is.2) You get automatic full LP at the end of each kill. So killing faster is WAY overpowered. If you kill him before he can hit enough to make you eat, the amount of damage he did before that doesn't matter at all, because the minions are healing you up. If you kill him fast enough to make him get in one less hit, that's almost certainly worth a few defense points. J35u5_M4
So... I know what to wear now, what about inventory/yak? Aaand I guess I'll the using mage pray + turmoil (SS flick will depend on my connection)
green9090
This is what I personally take, I took that screenshot for a Zammy guide I wrote. Keep in mind that the less skilled you are, the more brew you'll need compared to restore, so you might take out 3-4 restores/supers and replace with brew. green9090
It's been submitted for inclusion on the main Tip.it site. If you want, I could copypasta the entire thing here, but a lot of it is stuff you've already heard and/or stuff for teams and noobs. Quyneax
^It's a good guide. I think that inventory is for divine though? green9090
Yeah, hence the bring more brew than that, though when taking the screenshot I put more brew than usual in already so it's kind of a midpoint between a divine and non-divine inventory. Â So much of the inventory balance depends on luck and skill anyway that having your inventory skewed one way or the other doesn't matter that much. Get lucky with hits and you'll need more prayer, get unlucky and you'll need more brew. Noxx
I wouldnt suggest the Pray Mage method without at least a Elys. Went there earlier myself with Bandos, Dfs, Rapier, etc. and you still get hit a lot. I think i managed to get 6 kills before i had to tele out where i could usually get 17 - 20 with Elysian. Fair enough i might have just had a bad run of luck, but i doubt it could have been that bad to bring my KC down by ~11 kills.
green9090
Luck is a huge factor. With a divine I've managed 71 KC only having brought 3 brews and a unicorn (this was before the ashes update, so the yak was rather pointless). My friend once went with an identical setup to mine and didn't last a single kill. Either way, the melee prayer method is an extremely poor idea on a solo. An attack that maxes at ~650 can EASILY ko you even from ~850 LP considering you have two minions damaging you as well, one of which you're extremely weak against (the ranger). It also puts a huge strain on your prayer supplies, as it takes 1/20 of whatever it hits from your prayer points as well. He doesn't use it that infrequently, either. SirIzenhime
it doesn't max 650.It's more like 550. And the prayer drain DOES NOT correlate with Kril's hit.You loose HALF of your current prayer when he does the hit.If you have 10 prayer points, and he slams you with a 500, you will only loose 5 prayer points, as that is half of 10. Unless this has been changed from 2 months ago. green9090
It's been a long time since I've melee pray tanked K'ril, but I know for a fact he's hit me over 600 with his special, so his max is at least that. I'm also quite sure you're thinking of Nex's blood sacrifice attack with the prayer drain; that's not how K'ril's works. Â Either way, mage pray tanking reduces his KO potential significantly. It's stupid to melee pray unless you're tanking for a team and how low stats- if your stats are that low you can't solo. SirIzenhime
I used to tank zammy for fun with my friends...it IS how his prayer drain works, unless changed within the last two months. I've NEVER been hit more then a 550. green9090
I'm damn sure that's not how the prayer drain worked the last time I melee pray tanked, and I have been hit like 610 (61 at the time). One of us is apparently mistaken. SirIzenhime
I actually feel like testing this (not the max hit thing, the prayer thing) Fisher/Woodcut------Me-----Miner/crafter----Stabber----Leecher ^Golvellius must be so proud^

green9090
SS flick is really important, I'm not surprised you got wrecked without it. Essentially no point in going if you can't do it, it'll cut your trips in half. It's not like he drops much either, so you aren't missing much. @Izen: Huh. 2 other guides I checked and what I had always thought was the case are all apparently wrong. Weird.
