Maul can be used solo with soulsplit flashing (maul and Graar have the same attack speed), though I question its usefulness. But considering how minimal the difference is supposed to be, Rapier is probably your better choice anyways because it's much better then the longsword at almost everything else. You bring a defender with you and when someone comes to crash you bust it out. If you have a CLS at that point, you are SCREWED, because rapier + def crashes the hell out of CLS + def. -CLS sucks for minion kills. Rapier saves a LOT of prayer on the minions by killing them like 15% faster. The tank might maybe slightly do better with a CLS, but really the difference is so slight that it's not worth thinking about.
