Battle robes/bursting question

Featured Replies

Battle robes only provide combat runes, so I'd be using a tome or frost.

Which is just -better-, ice barrage or burst? Or some other barrage/burst spell?

How many casts will a set of battle robes provide? And how many charms can I expect to get from them, using whichever spell?

Ice barrage will deal more damage, making kills faster.

Use it.

If you can make decent money at all (2.5m/h IIRC) then Ahrims + Barraging is always better.

Tome of Frost is a complete waste of tokens.

It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet.

That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.

A rock lobs run usually take like 8 hours so you want to kill them as fast as possible to not die of boredom. So even if you want to save money, i'd use barrage.

Tome of Frost is NOT a waste of tokens and it's pretty useful there. Also AZN if you have it.

As for battle robes, they do save lots of money. If you can't stand FoG or have lots of money, don't use them.

You'd have to be some sort of masochist to want to be a forum moderator on the RSOF. They're honestly better off, imo.

False, they are both inefficient to use at decent incomes. The math has been done time and time again, I cba to dig it up so just trust me.

I already have a tome, so boo hoo.

I've been doing FOG on and off while I am f2p. I have 1500 tokens.

Well it can't hurt to use up your tokens and if you already have a tome...

But yes, the tome of frost is worth like 1m gp over the course of 99 summoning & battle robes are inefficient for bursting at least. For barraging they are kinda worth it if you don't have an iron titan. Though I'd still say black demons > rock lobsters for you as you get effigy xp& opportunity to finish 99 strength & ranged xp.
