Fights that just go on and on and on

Featured Replies

Basically whats ur opinion on fights that drag on for 10+ hours.

Recently im only aware of 3 clans fighting for more than 10 hours, DF (twice), ROT and TT. To me it seems like a waste of time but i want to know what others think of it.

Is it something to be proud of or ashamed of?

And would you be willing to take part in one?

Personally I would be rather ashamed that ive wasted so much time for just a little ingame rep and i would never really wana take part in one for any more than a couple of hours. My clan could for all I care but spending that much time infront of a computer is nothing that apeals to me.

As I said on the DF v TT topic on RSC, in any fight which goes on for the 10 or so hours, there are no winners.

Speaking of which I'm participating in one now that has gone on for 22 hours.

(Will edit this/make a new post after I'm done.)

WG vs Distortion was 10 hours, it was a feast the whole time. :P

I personally would get bored after 10 hours but if that's what people enjoy then I see nothing wrong with it.

I do it because I can. I can because I want to. I want to because you said I couldn't.

I get bored after fighting for 2 or 3 hours, so no way I would participate in anything longer than that.

Personally, the longest pkri I've ever fought was like 3 hours. Fighting more than that is not healthy for my bank and my life, lol.

Finished after 24 hours.

Got to say it shouldn't have lasted that long, but it certainly shows the determination of both clans. Overall it was up and down for both us and TT, but TT ended stronger which resulted in the win. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Although I have to admit I'm not one to crave these fights.

In case you're wondering, 7 kills; 84 deaths. And I stayed for around 22 hours.

Nothing to be ashamed of for losing, but maybe for playing a game non stop for the whole day? Seems like a waste of life to me. I can't go an hour or two without getting bored.. no way in hell I'd be up for a fight that long.

My longest fight was 10 ish hours at TT vs VR. It was pretty enjoyable for the first ~5 hours, but after that it started to get boring. Obviously there are some interesting moments later on the fight (like when one gains momentum etc)

Either way, I left TT last week. It would have been nice to be a part of a victory like this, but then again I am greatful that I didnt waste 24 hours of my life on this.

CR vs EH was a 12 hour fight and i was there for about 10 hours. At the end of the day there really isn't much point in fighting that long, but if it's a rivalry then neither clan is going to give up easily. It gets to the point where you say, it's been 5 hours now, and there's no point of ending after it has been that long and you keep going and going if both clans are going back and forth with who is in control.

From what I am told, the Karamja war lasted for days. It was before my time, but that goes to show that long fights have been around almost as long as the game has. Are they a waste of time? Sure, just like the rest of the game.

12 hours should be the max.

RSD also had a 10 hours long fight recently.

I couldn't stay the hole fight (becasuse I had to work the next day) but I must admit that 3 hours of war was enough for me.

Usually, after that 3 hours I start to get bored.

We choose to go...not because [it is] easy, but because [it is] hard, because that goal will serve to measure and organize the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win. ~ Blasphemien Way

Longest I've done is 5-6 and those are pretty boring after awhile.

I prefer to keep it under 4hrs. Just seeing clans willing to fight for so long is one reason I'll probably never join a top clan.

I miss the days of the 'no return' rule. Fights went on for a half hour to hour.. max.. just the way I liked it. Of course, in those days, money making methods were limited and slow, and rune was expensive.
