Castle Wars Group?

Blutters

Recommended Posts

Well, I asked this quite a while ago and got no useful answers.

Is there a Castle Wars group/clan/chat channel that "fixes" games like in Soul Wars (or orbs, or sc, or what have you...)?

After Livid, Summoning, ETC, I plan to get that Halo!

Please post anything relevent as well, as long as it isn't about some moral outcry of fixing games!

Thanks.

Well haloes take a long time to get, 300 tickets @ 25 minutes per 2 tickets, you'd be looking at 62.5 hours always winning, or 125 hours assuming you always draw. Which is really not worth it, so there isn't a clan to fix games. I think the only reason Castle Wars is still played for fun is that the rewards suck to get :P.

Lol, no there are no clan chats that I'm aware of that 'fix' games. However, it's not actually that hard to get fairly decent at castle wars, I've gotten about 2200 tickets and most of the time I was antistacking (joining the weaker team) to make the game more of a challenge. Basically, if you don't enjoy playing castle wars (I mean playing capture the flag rather than randomly attacking people) then there's not much point going for the rewards. If you do decide to start playing castle wars for fun though, there are a few guides around that'll teach you the basics of how to win games.

I tried to set one up before but Jagex shut it down because it "isn't in the spirit of the game" -____-

The corp beast, is, well, just a corp beast. He doesnt even have any friends.

[spoiler=Other Quotes]tbh idk why this makes me laugh so hard

All DFS threads turn into efficiency flame wars >.>

>someone says "stop bashing people who use DFS, efficiency troll ass clown"

>thread is now a flame fest

This is pretty much the truth. Castle wars is one of the few times Jagex got a mini-game right. It didn't need good rewards to become popular, the opposite in fact, it just needed to be fun and without too many rules. If you don't enjoy it I would suggest not bothering as it probably isn't worth it.

Thank you for the replies; they're actually better than I got before (that was months ago, in any case).

Personally, I DO enjoy Castle Wars (more so when I win!) so even if I played it and did nothing else in RS I would probably never call it grinding.

Because I find it fun, the time would really feel to go faster [than other activities] if I were playing it a lot. It would not be less fun if wins were guaranteed.

(Just for the record, I have 118 tickets already, if that proves anything.)

HOWEVER, I also want the Halo, as I said before. Therefore, if I wanted to speed up the process by playing it far more often, it would be beneficial to win every time I played...

Please consider this thread to still be "active", in case someone is aware of a group similar to the one I am looking for.

You could take a group of friends to an unpopulated world and stack one team you'd be pretty much guaranteed to win. But imo castle wars is one of the best parts of RS with one of the best communities around it so sticking around the official worlds and playing for the fun of it is more worth it than doing something dull just to get a halo.

I figured there were some clans "controlling" the official worlds?

I have stacked low pop worlds and it's not fun nor is it where the majority of my tickets came from. I'd much rather have a full world with people who try where I'll win most of the time without having to resort to using ancients.

How about just a clan? Are there no Castlewars clans? That's closer to what I want, but no one has suggested any of those so far either... Honestly I don't know if there's a difference between a clan playing together on the same team and fixing games.

Off-topic (on my own thread) but hopefully Group Vengeance will make some sort of grand difference.

Clans don't tend to get involved with official worlds, the people who win the games are probably clan members but they'll be from different clans and it'll just be for fun. I didn't suggest joining a cw clan because (no offence) but the chance of you being accepted with just 100 tickets is minimal. They don't tend to take beginners, you need to be good at the game already before they'll accept you and you wouldn't get faster tickets with them anyway.

If you want to get into a CW clan hang around the official worlds they are quite difficult to get into to. You need to be as obsessed as they are with PID and know how to get a good one. You also need to be doing conisitently well in the games and getting noticed. Members of CW clans tend to be rather aloof and incredibly rich! However when I was playing castle wars everyday for a long time - I have 480 games done ( not huge in comparison with some people but still plenty) - I would get asked to play in clan matches and the like, however this was before PKing became a more major part of CW and it was more about your click, which was at that time determined by your IP address rather than a randomised PID which meant people were able to spend long periods of time getting very good clicks and keeping them rather than losing them everytime they logged. You had people famous for their incredibly fast clicks e.g Leigh Link and Pheonix Odin. Anyway my point is CW clans are very hard to get into it helps if you have the absolute best gear and by the time you're close to being accepted into one you'll already have your halo.

As above, I wouldn't recommend a CW clan. Your best bet is just to play on the official worlds and get better at playing to a stage where you are one of those actively effecting the outcome of the game.
