12 Dead, One Survivor in Critical condition

i was watching this for a total of about 7 hours this morning (dad having surgery, i was sitting in the hospital), and pretty much this sums it up: originally they were trapped and presumed dead, someone made a mistake and said they were all alive, then 3 hours later they are pronounced dead again, with one in critical condition. the mine had violated 208 saftey precautions or something like, but none warranted shutting down the mine. what they believe caused the explosion wasnt one of those 208 things either.

How do you violate 208 things? :oops: :shock: :oops:

it was over a certain amount of time, a few months or something. its also around the national average for a mine. if they would shut down all the mines that are about as dangerous as this, we would have tens of thousands of people complaining about losing their jobs, rather that a community complaining about a mine that they now think should be shut down.

This is the one where someone had a major [rooster] up, telling the families that all of the people had survived with 1 critical, only to tell them 30 minutes later that 12 were dead with 1 critical?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I tell you, the person who made that mistake is now sleeping with a horse's head.

This and that roof collapsing in Germany on all those people. :(

 

 

 

Terrible way to start the new year.

RIP also to the people who were affected by a landslide in Indonesia. The death toll is estimated to be more than 190 deaths.

I heard about this when my alarm clock woke me on 'The Fan' when i get ready for school. News is the first thing i hear, i never get any sports highlights :(

I get two papers at my house. This morning, I opened the first one and saw that one man was found dead, the others still missing. Then the second paper apparently went to press time a little later; it said that the other twelve were alive. It described the scene at the church where relatvies were waiting, and how the bells were ringing and people celebrating when they learned the news... Now to learn that it was all a mistake, the other twelve are not alive after all...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It doesn't mean anything to say this online, but I give my sympathies to the families. I can't imagine going through something more terrible than that.

I saw a bunch of things. I remember it saying "12 miners found alive, 1 critical", and the next day it said all but one died. What the.

Seems like nothing but bad news lately. English news ran a story last night about a sexual assault on a 3 year old girl, i was nearly sick.

I feel really sorry for those families. A lack of communication has brought some terrible images above.

 

 

 

But I have a small comment on this situation, it's a personal opinion, so please don't flame it. In my eyes, those people were a little too happy when they heard the news. I mean, I would scream when i saw my friend/husband/etc., and not when I heard (read not officially been confirmed) that they are alive. I know they were probably happy their beloved ones were still alive, but still...

ya, I heard about that. I still dont gbet how they all died. Was it gas?
