eee
Would the damage from deflects be worth losing +6 strength on slayer tasks?
Kimberly
Out of curiousity if you have the ability to obtain bandos why wouldn't you be using void melee w/ deflector instead of monk robes? http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?item1=10637&item2=2030&rs2item_tools=&compare=&submit=Compare http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?item1=10640&item2=2190&rs2item_tools=&compare=&submit=Compare How significant is the difference of -3 prayer points/+4 str? eee
I'm talking about certain slayer tasks. Steels/irons and possibly dark beasts.
Kimberly
Sorry, I read the word 'tasks' yet I didn't make the connection. In that case I don't have the data that shows how frequently deflect activates at what amount of damage. Sorry for derailing your thread :/
Cacmypants
Well for tasks don't people use proselyte as an upgrade to monks robes anyway?
eee
Lower defence bonuses are better if damage is deflected from attacks that would have hit.
Cacmypants
That does make sense *nodnod* Well if you're choosing between the two, the increased deflection damage will probably be more significant than the slight strength boost, especially if you can compensate with other gear. gago
Deflect hits are so small that they're insignificant if you ask me.But for prayer tasks(turmoil + protect) i always use proselyte and save some pray pots. Quyneax
Bandos is a straight 3% dps increase or so. So if you're hitting say, 250 damage per rapier hit, you'd have to deflect around 7.5 damage every combat round. I don't usually see myself deflecting much at all, but then again I use Bandos. Should be noted that a fair portion of your defence is from levels + non-Bandos gear (fury, barrows gloves, fsh, d boots is around 70 melee defences?). And you can't use overload if you're going to lower your defence. Jadinko
Sorry if this is the wrong place. But does the deflect spells deflect what would of been hit? So for example at corp the average deflect would be arond ~5 damage? Miseryism | Completionist
Cacmypants
I've never used deflect, so I wouldn't know, but it's a 10% reflect, right? It shouldn't be too hard to consistently deflect 10-17 damage if you reduce your defense on purpose. Though it still seems like more of a novelty than a practicality, nothing wrong with that, it's good to mix things up.
SirIzenhime
deflects are 10% recoil. If the monster would have hit a 170, the deflect does 17 Bandos is better btw. You'd be surprised at how much those small defense from boots, gloves, fury, etc. protect you from. As said above, deflect would have to do recoil at least 7.5 damage per turn, which won't happen on a steel dragon.
