Today it seems that few players are logged in today. About 12 hours after the Deadliest Catch update, there are only 113k people logged in. A few minutes ago the w138 disconnected every1 for about 10seconds. People in my cc are also reporting the same occurrences. So I ask, do people think Jagex is testing new anti-bot measures?

Nah, nothing really to do with new anti-botting measures. Usually if some small aspect is changed within the game, it will affect the bots.

eg. The patch notes where frost dragons are now left-clickable could explain a lot of them.

They'll be back as soon as they readjust themselves unfortunately.

Ye I suppose, but ik the world I was in just went down, and like people in my cc said same occurrences. I'm up for random disconnects though, because as of now it sure is working. Maybe there can be special dc free areas like bosses, and certain slayer spots.

It isn't possible to make certain areas "dc free." The crashes may have to do with hundreds-thousands of bots going online at once after being fixed. Or it could be some type of bug.

Either way, it isn't some new anti-bot system. Jagex doesn't have one.

Do we have to have this topic every time there's a new updates? The day of an update, about half of the regular players don't play. Ish. Roughly. Very roughly. And for the record, I'm including bots as regular players, if the bot is on regularly.

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.

The rest of my sig. You know you wanna see it.

Well apparently Jagex are experimenting with some things right now: QFC: 15-16-996-62861426 (See 7th post)

Don't want to get too hopeful so just wait a day or so before coming to any conclusions.

It's a bad thing that the bots weren't able to function today?

Is this something to do with the system update today, which updated nothing?
