The hood gives so much defence that I can just use a unicorn to heal. I also have the vampyrism aura, which isn't necessary but it's still helpful and there's really no reason not to use it. I only need 80k more woodcutting xp to begin. I'm not sure how long it will take, but at least I'll try to get the adze before next week's update.
