Drop rate can be very different btw, wikia use 101-512 as rare and 513+ as very rare. Drop rate can vary as much as it wants from each monster since dragon pickaxe is listed as very rare.

It's a very rough estimate but the actual drop rate is probably around 1/3500

I used monkfish and a terrorbird, so it shouldn't be too hard with tortoise and sharks. The trick - at least for me - was to use berserk as much as possible and not care about the souls at all.

I've always used antifires at QBD, she's impossible to kill without them if you use a 2h weapon.

By the way, I really like these new kalphites :) Great xp and pretty good drops. Here's what I got from 195 exiled kalphite guardians, which took me about an hour to kill (everything except the slayer ring was from them):

 

Especially the blue charm drop rate is really good :D

I'm gonna have to unblock those kalphites. Before eoc they were actually the most annoying things ever

Next dungeoneering reward will be a chaotic weapon, probably maul or maybe staff :) I'll have around 86-87 dungeoneering by then though

That rune plate alch fodder <3 nice drops and such, can't wait until I get to that point with mine, I'm just hoping barrows gets taken off steroids for now :P

 

Also very jelly of that splitbark helm, I keep having to drop clues due to that or blue body/vambs =/

Four QBD kills today but no good items. Would've been five but I lost connection during the last one :(

 

My connection has been a bit unstable for the last few days, so I haven't gone to GWD since I got the champion's scroll. I'll do low-risk things like QBD and slayer until I figure out the problem :)

I lost connection again at QBD but this time it lasted for two hours. Lost my dharoks armor :( I do have more melee armor in my bank, but it still sucks :(
