Does anyone have some experience with this task ?

 

Is it better to melee them or use range ?

Would meleeing them with protect melee, with armour with high mage def (like karils) be an option ?

Are sagaie worth it when ranging ?

 

Are they even worth slaying ? I hear they have a high drop rate for elite clues (and the vine whip off course).

Should I slay guards or babies instead ?

I think the task takes too long but when I'm low on points and have to do it I just use Bandos/Rapier with Turmoil and Soul Split when needed, they don't hit often but expect the occasional 250+.

A good tip for this task i have is;

 

If you are low on food or you start getting hit a lot by the Jadinkos go to the offering stone and take about 5-10 Fruit (only) and use them. By the time you have used the all you will be back at maxed Jadinko points anyway - or close.

 

Another thing i have notices is that range is very effective against them and i wouldn't recommend Praying Melee/Magic.

So far I have just been tanking them with turmoil and a uni without too many problems.

Not that excited about the drops, though.

 

Maybe I will give range a try and see if that's more fun.

I'd Range regardless, seeing as you need Range XP and you don't need Melee XP.

horrible xp horrible drops. i skip them :P

not necessarily horrible xp, they are about 30k slay xp/hour and the whip vine is about 5m so thats good. but still they are worth skipping unless u really need the points

Slow xp however, I average around 3 elite clues per task and the favour lets me buy HH seeds without having to hunt for them.

 

I range them with mage pray, so the task is more afk then if I meeled.
