Ezkaton
Didn't know where to post this, so I thought I would put it here. Glacor: Level 475 monster. Examine of Glacor: A mysterious ice creature, infused with power from the Stone. Examine of Enduring Glacyte: An ice creature. It looks to be drawing its strength from the nearby glacor. Examine of Sapping Glacyte: An ice creature, ready to drain you of all hope. Examine of Unstable Glacyte: An ice creature. It looks highly unstable! I'm currently killing them and will update this with every kill. Rune Battleaxe (1 unnoted)Blue Charms (3)Blood Rune (47)Pure Essence (74 noted)Crimson Charms (3) I only managed 3 kills in 10 minutes using Bandos, Soul Wars Cape, Dragon Boots, Maul, Fury, Neit, Overloads, Turmoil, Melee Pray, and Brews and Restores. Also their Melee attack hits through melee pray; however, it seems significantly reduced. Magic hits continually high on these and is much more efficient. After testing mage I would not reccomend melee. I was overloaded to try and use Fire Surge; however, as I brewed to heal FS was out of my reach so I used the next set of Fire spell instead, still managing to get 2 kills within one dose of Overload. I was wearing Ahrims hood, top, bottom, infinity boots, blessed spirit shield, staff of light, arcane stream necklace and gloves. They seem to have a high droprate of Crimson and Blue charms. Like posted below, they have a weakness to mage which is quite significant. They are not aggressive monsters, I just teleported into the cave and ran around and stood under one. So they only attack if you attack them. The boots dropped by them and the stats: Glaiven Boots |Stab|Slash|Crush|Magic|Ranged|Summoning|Strength|Ranged Strength| +----+-----+-----+-----+------+---------+--------+---------------+ Attack | 0| 0| 0| -12| +10| 0| 0| 0| Defence | +3| +4| +5| +3| 0| +12| -| -| Ragefire Boots |Stab|Slash|Crush|Magic|Ranged|Summoning|Strength|Ranged Strength| +----+-----+-----+-----+------+---------+--------+---------------+ Attack | 0| 0| 0| +6| 0| 0| 0| 0| Defence | +0| +0| +0| +6| 0| +6| -| -| Steadfast Boots |Stab|Slash|Crush|Magic|Ranged|Summoning|Strength|Ranged Strength| +----+-----+-----+-----+------+---------+--------+---------------+ Attack | +2| +2| +2| -4| -1| 0| +4| 0| Defence | +20| +21| +22| 0| 0| +19| -| -|Snipped from the Grand Exchange. Requirements are 75 defence and 75 in the relevant combat skill. Kind of a mixed bag. Glaiven boots are pretty good compared to what rangers already had available to them (pretty much nothing). Ragefire boots are just Infinity boots with an extra +1 to each of the stats Infinity boots already gave bonuses in, and Steadfast boots are Dragon boots with slightly better defences and +2 to the melee attack bonuses. My guess is that the Glaiven (ranger) boots are the ones that will be the most valuable. I'd also assume that this would eventually lead to ranger boots crashing, although the high defence requirements for the Glaiven boots would mean that Ranger boots are still a better option for pures. Saradomin_Mage
Might as well add stuff since Ezk started the topic :P Glacors have 3 stages, and at each point are able to attack with melee (in close range), magic, range, a solid freezing attack and a special icicle attack. The magic attack is fired from the left arm, and looks like a blue-ish glowing ball. It is only partially soakable with protect/deflect magic. The melee attack is only perform at close range, and is only partially soakable with protect/deflect melee. The ranged attack is fired from the right arm, and looks like a single icicle. It is completely soakable with protect/deflect ranged. The special icicle attack shows the Glacor flinging both its arms down and launching 3 icicles at you at the same time. It targets the spot you're standing on, and if you do not move off the spot before the attack connects, it hits you for half your current LP.The solid freezing attack turns you into an ice cube, much like in the quest, and requires you to click to move elsewhere about 5 times to break free from the ice. Failure to do so within a time limit will result in the Glacor smashing the ice cube, damaging you. At long range, the Glacor will attack with one attack style for a period of time, before switching to the other style. Activating a deflect/protect prayer shortly before the attack reaches your character is enough to provide protection. After weakening the Glacor to about half HP, it summons 3 Glacytes and becomes immune to damage. You must kill these 3 Glacytes before you can damage the Glacor again. The Enduring Glacyte can only be damaged when it is far away from the Glacor. The further away it is, the more damage it takes. The Unstable Glacyte has an "LP" bar that charges over it. When this LP bar fills, it stops moving and attacking, and about 3 ticks later will let off an explosion, hitting itself for 90% of its remaining LP and damaging you with unsoakable damage if you're standing next to it. If not killed shortly after, it starts regenerating LP rapidly and prepares this explosive move again. The Sapping Glacyte drains prayer points by about 10 with each attack it makes. There are no tricks involved in killing this creature. All Glacytes only attack with melee. The Enduring Glacyte is not aggressive on summoning, so you need to attack it to draw its attention and lure it away. Once all 3 Glacytes are dead, the last glacyte killed determines what the final form of the Glacor is like.If you kill the Enduring Glacyte last, the Glacor gets a damage reduction of 60% on all hits.If you kill the Sapping Glacyte last, the Glacor drains prayer points (16~ for me) with each of its attacks. If you kill the Unstable Glacyte last, the Glacor gets its own instability - it has a second health bar which causes it to explode when it fills up, but after that, if it's not killed, it regenerates LP extremely fast. Drops received so far : 323 headless arrows, 43, 57 addy bolts (unf), rune longsword, rune plateskirt, rune battleaxe, mud runes, blood runes, nature runes, steam runes (rune quantity unsure), coins (unsure quantity), Shards of ArmadylThey also drop 3 charms as a side drop. EDIT : Additional info wise, Fire spells seems to have a damage bonus against them - I'm not sure of the exact % boost but I've scored a 818 hit with Arcane Stream, Chaotic Staff and Fire Surge. Also edited post a bit. It might be that all hits get a damage boost on them, since it says we get a damage boost down to residual energy from the Stone of Jas as a reward from the quest. Has anyone experienced similar with melee/range? Then again, I'd completely understand the logic in fire spells just getting a damage boost. Has anyone experienced similar with melee/range? Then again, I'd completely understand the logic in fire spells just getting a damage boost. It might well be; however, as proved by myself, Wicked and many others that mage perhaps gets bit more of a boost as even in melee gear (Wicked was in Bandos, I've been maging in V Helm, Torag body, V Skirt with -6 Mage attack bonus) you still hit 900+ with Fire Surge. I think that the boost from the residual Stone of Jas power allows people to do that, but there is no question that Mage is the most effective and efficient there. Jaffy1
Just a little update:We've been working on the entries and although they won't be set live until they are finished, we're on top of this and appreciate the help tremendously. :shades:  If either of you still has the Shards of Armadyl, would it be possible to provide us with an image, the weight, and any other information that is useful for an item database entry? Thanks guys! :)I can't do the quest but I find some info in the FAQ ([qfc]15-16-871-63202569[/qfc]) which may be interesting: Why do Glacors only drop one shard of Armadyl at a time, and why are they as rare as they are considering you need them to craft the rune? Paul: Each shard can be ground into 8 dust. Each piece of dust can then be made into a number of runes based on your runecrafting level, which matches the number of air runes you can make. Therefore, a top level runecrafter can get 80 runes per shard. I wanted to err on the side of caution and not flood the market. Once people have got their staffs, more shards will get converted to runes. I dont want to make any kneejerk reaction, but we will keep an eye on things over time to make sure 8 dust is the right number. Especially useful for the runecrafting guide at the multiplier table http://sign.tip.it/1/2/79/260/essiw.png Retired item crew I would like to be credited as essiw at the website update & corrections forum. Saradomin_Mage
Just an additional note/correction now, Glacors with the Sapping traits drain 10% of your current prayer points. Saradomin_Mage
Erk. You might want to fix the following parts in the Bestiary entry:Icicle - The Glacor flings both its arms down and fires 3 icicles at one. It targets the spot you are standing on, and if you do not move the attack will take half your remaining life points. It's definitely more than 3 icicles. Sorry about that, I gave that information but it's wrong. Might want to just say multiple, because I didn't actually count them properly :P When standing out melee range of the Glacor, it will attack with range for a period of time, before switching to the other. At half-health the Glacor will summon three Glacytes that must be killed before the Glacor can be harmed again.standing out of melee * Freezing - Occasionally you can be frozen and must break the ice block like in the questYou can mention that Glacors only use this special attack when you're in melee range. If there's anything else I notice I'll be sure to keep you guys notified. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
