Sinkhan
Round three. First two times I did it ranged, it took forever and I died, so I'm gonna try melee this time. I've read a bunch of other threads and have a strong idea of how to do it, but another thread probably couldn't hurt. Stats:87 atk79 str84 def88 hp76 pray90 ranged Setup: Slayer HelmFuryTorag's PlateTorag's LegsD bootsD defenderArdy CapeWhipBarrows Gloves Have access to EEE. No claws. If anyone thinks there's any amazing upgrade to my gear that can be obtained for <5mil, I'm open to it. I'm only 70 dg so a chaotic is pretty far away. Are prayer renewals worth it? What should invent setup be? I have access to ovls, but I'm not sure how good they would be. Jad ranged animations and magic animations are pretty obvious, so I assume that I'd just pro melee the entire time until I see another attack. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
JPMC Mate
Replace T Legs with V Skirt and Top w/ Prossy Top. Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous. Powerfrog
If you can't kill jad with range you're going to have a hell of a time with melee... (and no claws/chaotic/veng for a speedy kill) Use about 13 brews, 12 sup restores, 2 ovls, claws(DDS?!?) Oh. Veracs skirt and torags top. Do not use prossy top, you want as high defense as possible, and your prayer is already high enough. Personally though, i'd just range it at your levels. Your range is good, you don't have a chaotic, you don't have soulsplit, you don't have exceptionally high melee stats, and don't have enough jad experience to get a melee kill without getting extremely lucky. Sinkhan
I'm still under the impression prayer switching was not difficult. The only reason I died last two times were slight lags, and I walked under Jad to lure healers lol. If you can handle range, sure, go for melee. :)
Sinkhan
Ok with that vote of confidence I think I'll do it. Also, don't you think 12 sup restores is a little excessive? I did it every other time with maybe 3 or 4 and the rest ppots. Of course I've never used ovls before since I only got them last BXP and have been supering all my tasks. I think it would be wise to go for all supers, even if they're not needed at any specific moment to help your ovls. I say 12 total because i like to piety most of the caves to speed it up a lot, and it still leaves a lot of room for brews incase you make mistakes or simply take damage, and you really don't need like 20 brews, which you could do if you were super prayer conservative. Sinkhan
Lol I just realized that sup restores cost nothing now. When I last did this they were around 10ea and snaps were actually worth farming. I'm also pretty sure ppots give 10 or so extra ppoints per dose than super restores at my level. Powerfrog
Yes they do. Use prayer pots. Don't listen to fools.Key point being a few prayer points. Not a noticable difference. Having the supers for boosting right up after a brew is useful and saves time overall if going for a fast firecape, and if you're using melee, i assume you want this. But whatever, use the slightly better prayer restoration you don't need. I'm a fool.
Quyneax
I agree with Verac's skirt over Torag's legs. Not proselyte unless you have soul split. 3 ovl - 3 prayer rewewal - with +15 prayer bonus you'll drain 2/3rds of 10 points per second with piety and a protect prayer, which is 4 points per tick. Renewal reduces that by 1 so for one hour you need 6000*3 = 18000 prayer restore, that's about 15 ppots at 300 points per dose, so you need more at your level. Soul Wars cape would help. At max stats, the caves are some 40 minutes (smooth Jad required) so that's 50% extra time to account for whip etc. Fill the rest of your inventory with brews (and eee!), taking 1 restore per 2 brews or so and the rest ppots. Super prayers would be helpful if you wanted to carry things like vengance runes. An overload basically negates the need for any super restore.Unless you derp a lot on pray switching, in which case you should only bring like 1-2 super restore (after you brew like 3 times after Jad smacks you)

Now that I think of it, I need to do some livid farm >.> Btw thanks for everyone's input so far. Quyneax
Reverence probably would, I personally would still bring renewals for the sake of a clear inventory but it's not neccesary.
