Because not only a month ago i could have confirmed that they do in fact grow in your bank. I remember specifically because i would have them in my 4th tab, and they would automatically place themselves in the main tab once they've fully grown into saplings, causing me to look frantically for them. And sub-category works fine, it fills itself out with relevant options after you pick category; a few don't have any subs eg books, but most do. I always used to bank my seedlings after watering them, and they always turned into saplings.Seedlings also share a somewhat "common" waiting time, since they all change when the equivalent tree patches grow.
