All I see on YouTube is pk vids with it but that's not the same with monsters. I really cbf getting like 85 dung so I was wondering if anyone here has tried using it with a whip on monsters and do you still hit a lot or a rapier is needed?

Your dungeoneering level is only 45. That means you have basically zero idea of how it actually works, or how enjoyable it is. Saying "cbf" is a little premature imo.

Maybe. Could be because i still can't understand fullly how things work there and it's strategies.

 

But for now i think i'll go with a whip.

Rapier is almost essential for competitive bossing, or just bossing more effeciently in general. It's also about twice as good as a whip on metal dragons, especially miths. The difference is HUGE.

 

Sure, whip will be fine for slayer, but rapier would be better. Stop being lazy and get one :P It's not difficult.

Well turmoil is well worth using even with a whip, if that is what you are asking. You will receive a significant boost so use it wherever possible.

Well. Based on the actual stats and nothing else.

 

Rapier is 1.16 more accurate than the whip.

Rapier is 1.23 more damage than the whip.

 

At best, turmoil boosts your attack by 30%

At best, turmoil boosts your strength bt 33%

Piety boosts attack by 20%

Piety boosts strength by 23%

 

So rapier with piety beats whip with turmoil by quite a lot, but that's before adding gear, which will halp the whip a little. Don't forget you also get Soulsplit with turmoil, which is simply amazing and possibly more useful than a rapier.

 

You shhould still just get the rapier so you can be double awesome though. :P

Erm... rapier is 94 stab 101 strength, whip 82 slash 82 strength. That means that using only your weapon, you should have ~8.2% higher accuracy roll with rapier, and ~13% higher max hit. That's before gear so it will become less. In typical slayer gear (Bandos + sw cape, regular berserker ring) you will have 47 stab, 46 slash and 40 strength to start with. That means the rapier will have ~6.8% higher accuracy roll, and ~10.2% higher max hit.

 

That is ignoring the base +5 to max for convenience.

Bear in mind that everything worth killing (Minus G-Man) seems to be weak to stab.

Well I got it and the hits aren't that high. I can only use super pots cause i don't have herb lvl for stronger ones.
